Now this is going to cause a major ruckus at Bedminster, where a certain resident who has a total obsession with ratings and crowd size hears about it. The Neilsen ratings are in for the past two days. They show that far more people are tuning into the Democratic National Convention than tuned into the Republican National Convention. Why could that be, I wonder? I mean, if you have a chance to see joy and hear hope and goodwill coming from the speakers onstage as opposed to listening to despair, doom and gloom, the end of the world as we know it, which would you tune into? I thought so.

It’s reasonable to expect tonight and tomorrow’s numbers to climb.

More than 20 million people tuned in to watch the first night of the Democratic National Convention, beating the opener for the Republican National Convention in July. […]

Data compiled by TV ratings company Nielsen shows the 2024 opener beats the opening day of the 2020 DNC, when Biden was running for president, which had an audience of 19.7 million. It also surpasses the number of households who watched the opening night of the RNC, hosted in Wisconsin earlier this year, when there were 18.1 million.

However, real viewership figures may be higher than this, as Neilsen data incorporates only broadcasters and not streaming services. It compiles viewership across ABC, CBS, NBC, Scripps News, Univision, CNN, CNNe, FOX Business, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation and PBS.

While the DNC continues, it remains to be seen if the final night will top that of the RNC, when 25.4 million tuned in, with a peak of 28.4 million viewers during Trump’s speech in the 10:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. window.
The streaming services add a lot of views, I’m sure. I personally have been watching the convention on my computer because then I can flip back and forth and write. I’m betting that a lot of people who watch clips on Twitter and read commentary there are probably tuned into the convention on a streaming platform.
Well, Donald, two days down and it looks like your ratings are as inferior to Harris/Walz’s as your donations are. Sad.

  2. What gets monitored, measured and reported, gets done – usually to secure a better position. Not so, for the malodorous orange pestilence: ‘done’ one segment at time, that’s him, for all the wrong and unmeasurable reasons; reasons due to his unmanageable reptilian arrogance and repetitive stupidity, that manifest as a result of his overriding pathological NPD. What he touches shrinks, withers and dies, and now it’s finally his turn to suffer the same fate – self inflicted!

  3. I have been watching on CSPAN because I want to watch the actual speakers and not broadcasters talking over them. I am pretty fed up with msm.

    • Same here. I wish I’d done so the whole evening Monday but in my case that light bulb didn’t go off in my head until well into the evening. Switching channels to check out the talking heads AFTER seeing things unfold without THEM deciding what was worthy to put on screen instead of themselves is the way to go.
