The cult is alive and flourishing. Right now the group of MAGAs that follow Donald Trump from rally to rally are in Asheville, North Carolina. North Carolina is a swing state and before Kamala Harris got in the race it looked to be sewn up. Now things are not so sure. So prayer is being asked of the faithful and hey, if you’re gonna pray, you gotta have the right prayer book, right? Right. So let this MAGA gal tell you all about how first the election is going to be “won in the spirit, before it can be won in the natural.” (Worlds, she means.) As it is above, so it is below, that sort of thing.

Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers, at least according to a country western song of that title. As fallible humans, seeing only a part of the big picture, we do pray for the wrong things frequently. But of course a MAGA would never believe that. Now while that’s going on outside the Trump rally, check out the ad at the beginning of this video. This was posted by a group called Evangelicals For Harris, which was started by Pastor Jon Pavlovitz.
I would love to hear how Trump’s wingnut evangelicals would reconcile this. Oh wait, I already know: Trump isn’t “perfect” and God will use imperfect people to do his works. Then perhaps they can explain to me why we shouldn’t all stay imperfect and not even make the effort to improve ourselves or be better people, since God apparently doesn’t give a $hit?
That attitude does not comport with the God of my understanding. My understanding is that humility and a desire for self improvement and self mastery are all important concepts in religion. A willingness to admit fault and to amend our behavior so as to be better people is key to all religions — but Trump doesn’t see it that way. He doesn’t want to be bothered with God, why ask forgiveness? And there’s nothing to forgive because everything Trump does is right because it serves him. Serving Him is not important but serving himself is how Trump sees the situation where he and God are concerned. That’s the truth of the matter.
Yet these clowns follow him. But not for long. I think that Evangelicals For Harris will probably take off, as the rest of the Harris campaign has, and the convicted felon will be off the stage in another 82 days — or whatever length of time it takes to determine the vote and name the winner, as in 2020. And of course Trump will claim it’s stolen, he’s laying the ground work for that now. This is why my personal prayer is for the election to be so conclusive that it’s decided on election night.

It sort of reminds me of an 18th Century Presbyterian minister in Belfast who, when ordered by armed British soldiers to pray for the king, started with “Oh Lord, if it be at all possible, have mercy on King George”
John 8:42-47…where Jesus is rebuking the hypocritical religious leaders once again. He explains why they don’t hear or believe his message. He calls them children of the devil, who was a murderer and LIAR from the beginning, and when he LIES, he speaks his native language, FOR THERE IS NO TRUTH IN HIM. Hey nazis…given Your idol has told tens of thousands of LIES…I guess you now know WHO YOU WORSHIP. You may bullshit yourself and others, but I’m curious…if you believe God knows all our hearts, and will sit in judgement on US ALL, how do you worship the devil and yet think paradise awaits? That’s not what the old or new testament teaches. YOU WILL BE HELD TO ACCOUNT. No true repentance…no salvation. Sorry. You better pray for your own sorry ass.

Mr ‘Orange Deity’ won’t, can’t, self-improve. He cannot admit fault or fracture. These ‘qualities’ don’t exist in this pathologically narcissistic, self-serving and transactional deity. It’s always someone else’s fault and they are there to blame and grift. He doesn’t give a shite about his cultish adorers. He only cares for the ‘one and only’ – that is, himself. The hubris of all this, is that he, being the arsehole he is, fails to understand and recognise he will be shortly wiped into obscurity. His non-negotiable ‘use-by-date’ is materialising and rapidly closing in – triggered by a devastating popular vote against him. He’ll be banished into a hell-scape abyss of obscurity. Here he’ll act-out through uncontrollable reptilian response pathologies of denial and blame, and concurrently, be painfully tormented by self-inflicted wounds, as he becomes corralled into the obscurity of his own making. No escape from this reality Mr ‘Orange Deity’ – it is written in a text that you cannot own, edit or control.
Recently I read an article in the Salt Lake Tribune that took the Mormons to task for supporting Trump. It detailed his many ways that are opposite to the church’s teachings and questioned why they would vote for him but would condemn him if he was a neighbor, coworker, or member.
