Expect the last days of Trump to be filled with all kinds of wild accusations. The right-wing grifting machine that has supported so many out and out losers lo these many years is taking quite a hit. They’re terrified of recent developments with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz pulling crowds and enthusiam which are reminiscent of both Obama and JFK.  Fox News will always be with us. They’re big. And probably America’s Voice, which is where the batshittery you’re about to hear hails from will probably also be with us. There’s a market for right-wing insanity and conspiracy theory. The flat earthers and anti-vaxxers aren’t going to go away. But none of these outlets are going to have the halycon days they had during the Trump presidency or would during a second Trump administration. They see that slipping away and they’re going to grab at any straw they can, like drowning men do.

I definitely don’t want anything to happen to Trump before the election. I want him to lose horrifically and then see how people laugh at him when he talks about another *stollen* election. That I want to see with my own eyes. I don’t want sudden death to grant Trump a reprieve.

As to Trump Force One, Trump left that plane to decay on a runway in New York during the years he was in the White House. Weeds were growing up the landing gear. It’s a 33 year old plane and when one of his engines went bad it took a while to find a replacement. And you know Trump probably doesn’t keep the plane properly maintained because he’s too cheap. I guess Trump is going to have to make a model of the plane and sell it along with his bibles and sneakers so that he can get from rally to rally. And speaking of which, where is he going next? I read Josh Marshall’s newsletter this morning and here’s what he said.

“One additional point that hasn’t been totally ignored but has also gotten a bit lost in the shuffle of weird and nonsense. Trump has barely campaigned lately — he is holding a rally today in Montana, which isn’t a swing state and is only his second this month. He suggested at the press conference he would remain off the trail for at least an additional two weeks. He explained that as staying off the campaign trail during the Democratic convention, which actually doesn’t make a lot of sense? You might not counter-program during the last two days of the convention. But one presidential candidate staying almost entirely off the campaign trail for almost a month? Well, that’s weird.”

Trump is not compaigning. He’s going to debate Kamala on September 10 because he’s been cornered into doing it. His MAGAs want it. But if that debate goes the way it’s expected to go it may be the one and only debate between them.

I am beginning to think that Trump simply is giving up. He knows he’s beaten. It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds.

  1. If he hadn’t sold his efficient and sporty Citation, he might have some options. But now he’s just got this shaky old guzzler. Could be why he’s staying in his happy place and does the occasional press event. Meanwhile Kam and Tim own the skies and are literally running circles around him.

    • I just had a thought. Movies will be made about this era long after we’re dead. What if there’s a subplot where Trump can’t keep up the expense of Trump Force One but he needs it for show and it shakes and creaks and everybody who gets on it prays that they’ll walk off of it. After all the insanity we’ve seen, this is not far fetched.

      • With everything tRump does there is always a sub-plot! Sometimes it takes a few years to become public – like the the possible a possible $10 million infusion in early 2017 that has just become public.

  2. And this wild accusation by the crackpot at RAV is based on what…absolutely nothing! This is combo of Trump’s cheapness, resulting in poor jet maintenence, and Trump’s own stoking of fear and violence, ending in his own paranoia. He reaps what he sows.

I don’t want to see him dead. I want to see him in prison for the rest of his miserable life.

  3. I’m like you. The LAST thing I want right now is Trump dead. I want to see him live not just through the election but for long afterwards suffering the humiliation of again LOSING. To a “girl!” which will make his suffering that much greater. The real torture what’s left in his mind will be LOSING to a BLACK Woman! Satan himself could look at the self-torture Trump will experience and think “Damn. How the bejeesus will I be able to make him suffer worse once he’s consigned to my own domain for all eternity?” Not to worry Satan, Trump torturing himself worse than you ever could will free up your time to pay extra attention for Trumpy’s enablers.

I also think you’re spot on about Trump’s plane. He’s cheap and if the campaign has to palms get greased to fudge maint. records to certify the damned thing to fly. You can (and even some airlines have with tragic results done so) get by with a little of that here and there for a while but eventually the proverbial bill comes due. Airliners (or airline type planes) are built with multiple redundancies to their systems. Crashes are virtually always the end result of what’s known in accident investigation parlance as an “Event Cascade” – something goes wrong and the crew either doesn’t recognize it quickly enough or take the wrong action, and/or something else goes wrong and then another but either way problems stack up faster than even a terrific flight crew can cope with them. Anyone out there think TRUMP’s pilot and co-pilot are top-level? I sure as hell don’t.

I can’t help but wonder if he knows this and has become skittish about flying. His ego couldn’t take doing so commercially, even if he bought out all the seats on a commercial fight. But it’s expensive as hell to operate a jet the likes of Trump’s “Trump Force One.” Six figures per flight hour and that doesn’t count all (some, but not all) regular maint. costs and periodic airworthiness certification inspections. He didn’t have to worry about such costs when he was President. What a campaign has to reimburse the govt. for travel on Air Force jets or Marine Helicopters for campaign stuff doesn’t actually cover the full cost even though it’s still a LOT.

Anyway Trump has to foot the entire bill for travel out of his own pocket since his that last ride on a Presidential fleet aircraft. Even if he wasn’t up to his ass misusing PAC/Super PAC money for his huge and ever increasing legal bills he still would balk at paying out what it takes to have a truly first class personal jet and top-level people flying it. We’ll just have to cross our fingers and hope like hell he doesn’t crash and burn prior to the election. And then before he gets carted off to prison.

      • I’ve written plenty about it already and could say more as I do have more than a layman’s knowledge about security of areas and people (including VIPs) so when it comes to Trump’s detail the answer is simple. They are too much in thrall to Trump to be at the peak level of professionalism their job requires. Not that they don’t possess a basic level of competence and skill, but it clearly slipped over the years. Of course, if you look back over the last twenty years AND are old enough (as in senior citizen age) it’s clear that the Secret Service simply isn’t up to the same level of top to bottom as it was when it was part of Treasury. Back when DHS was created I had doubts about it. The idea of have a more centralized agency to better coordinate protecting the country from foreign attacks, especially terrorism was worthy but creating the huge behemoth and pulling in all the agencies they did (FEAM for example. WTF?) and oreitenting them toward terrorism wasn’t I believe the proper thing to do. I could write a freaking book (some have) about subtle and not so subtle adjustments as to how agency’s focus shifted (for both good and ill) including the Secret Service. And how it impacted some of them. As part of Treasury Secret Service Special Agents were drawn from people who quietly had to work with state and local LE on their primary mission of protecting our currency and even dealing with electronic crimes that affected banking and currency. Mostly out of sight, non-sexy work but it built a LOT of local relationships that made cooperation and coordinaation with state/local LE (and even other federal agencies) better when they suddenly had to ramp up for say a Presidential visit or deal with candidates in a campaign. Those relationships that had been maintained over time where the throwing weight around by “the feds” wasn’t the problem it so often has been with other federal LE. Yes, the Secret Service was in charge and running the show but had been conditioned by training and experience from the beginning as “lowly” Treasury Agents to PARTNER with others instead of being “I’m in charge” assholes.

Oh well. I’ve said and will keep saying that many months from now when the reports on Butler are written it will, if one knows how to decipher “bureaucratese” be clear that shooting happened because Trump’s detail simply had over time gotten lax in the performance of their duties. Caught up in an easier schedule, pace of work and lower level of threat and enjoying perks of someone struggling to maintain the facade of a fabulously rich guy – and soaking up some of the perks of living and working out of Trump’s clubs. They let their guard down. So, when it comes to Trump’s plane and maint. while I’m sure they’ve run checks on those who have to make sure the damned thing is airworthy such checks have been cursory. They are as I said enthralled by their Protectee and given the “bennies” they get that they know others don’t get don’t really think about what you’ve asked about the way they should. Rationalization comes into play.

  4. New flash for the dumb-ass host of “real” america tee vee: planes that are over three decades old, owned by someone who scrimps on the maintenance of planes (this is a published fact), have mechanical issues. It takes absolutely no one to mess with the plane-it’ll have problems all on its own due to neglect.

Can these rwnj’s get any stupider? Well, yeah, I guess they can…

    • They either don’t know that the plane sat abandoned in New York with weeds growing on the landing gear or they don’t care. And Trump had another jet. It was smaller and he sold it for $10M. Interesting that he felt he had to liquidate an asset like that, eh what?

  5. I’m starting to think that after the shock wore off, Trump became much, much more frightened by the assassination attempt than we suspect. I think he’s afraid to leave his gilded bunker because now he sees a sniper on every rooftop. We know he’s a chicken, and who wouldn’t be frightened by nearly getting their head blown off? And after his airplane’s malfunction on the way to Montana, I bet he’s more afraid than ever. But also, as you say, he’s old and tired and out of shape and hating his relatively small crowds.

  6. And those investigations always blame the tech and mechanical crew, even though they can’t make the repairs, and handle necessary routine maintenance unless the owner gives the okay. And they need to be paid. For Trump, as in Trump.Tower when he bribed NYC Council to avoid installing sprinklers, if it doesn’t immediately put $$$ in his pocket, routine maintenance doesn’t happen. That plane had nothing done to it for 4-8 years,,and it shows.
