Anybody remember this bit of hyperbole from a few months back? Only the great Donald Trump could obtain the release of the Wall Street Journal reporter and other hostages, because of his profound and special relationship with Vladimir Putin? Well, one of two things here: 1. Either Donald is full of shit, or 2. Maybe Joe Biden has an even more special relationship with Putin or 3. Both could be true. In fact, that’s how I would call the shot. Here is the tweet to refresh your recollection.

There it is in black and white, “Putin…will do that for me but not for anyone else.” That may be what he’s telling you, Donald. Guess what? I’ve known a lot of dummies in my life who believed it when some guy was saying that they were the one and only, too, and boy did they find out what the score really was. Now you’re waiting for me to tell you it gets worse — and if worse means, “more ridiculous” then away we go.

So you can believe that: 1. Trump never even entered into the conversation between Biden and Putin, either actually or rhetorically; or 2. Putin is afraid of Trump. Your call to make. Now where this gets hysterically funny — or tragic, again, the shot is yours to call — is that Doug Burgum said he would never do business with Trump because he found him “untrustworthy.”

I guess that’s a 7-11 in Bismark, I have no idea. I’ve known folks from North Dakota but have never gone there myself. But Fargo is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. And now I’m going to tell you, it gets worse.

The tweet starts out, “So when are they going to release the details of the hostage swap with Russia? How many people do we get versus them?” This is an amazing thing what happened today. Gershkovich had gotten sentenced to 15 years in prison. His life would have been over, either literally, or out and out ruined in any event. So this is a miraculous and wonderful thing that the Biden administration hath wrought. But can Trump be an American, along with the rest of us, for just one minute in time, and rejoice? Hell, no.

And this deal was worked with Putin during that period of time when Biden was home, recuperating from COVID and wasn’t making any public appearances for a few days. That was when that moron Lauren Boebert was demanding proof of life. You recall that?

This one incident illustrates not only the difference between the two political parties, at this stage of the GOP collapsing, but the difference between Biden and Trump. Nobody would have blamed Joe Biden if he just stopped working, did the minimum. But he didn’t. He executed his duties, he went the extra mile, even as he was stepping away from a second term. This is another reason that Biden will be remembered as a great president.

Because Biden, unlike Trump, has never been in this line of work solely for himself. He has a social conscience. He wants to make a difference. Trump is in politics for cash and self aggrandizement, period, end of story.

  1. Yeah rumpletrumpskin negotiated with his pen pal lover and brought home that young kid brain dead from North Korea. I like presidents who don’t bring hostages home brain dead. Then he sung his own praises along with those of those murderous thugs.

    • Trump is so clueless that it would be sheer hilarity and farce. What ruins the comedic aspect is how high the stakes are. That’s what keeps me up nights. Or, at least did for four years. I feel confident we will beat him again.

  2. Von shitzinpants released thousands of taliban prisoners. You know, america’s real time, actual, never to be anything else, enemies. He released convicted american felons. At no time did he get even close to getting these two gentlemen imprisoned in russia released. Why the press isn’t riding his ass about this explains a great deal about why we really do not have journalism in this country. We have fux nuz and fux nuz wannabes. Period.

    • oh, and BTW, von shitzi pr*sidential portrait really needs to be changed to the photo up top. It is truly representative of his 4 pathetic years in office and it is an expression he wears way too often. In fact, he ought to be careful before his face, according to my mother, freezes up that way.
