I would bet you that Nikki Haley is kicking herself in one regard: she knows that Donald Trump should do what Joe Biden did and step aside. And since Haley was the only one who sparked a glimmer of interest during the primaries, logically the torch could pass to her. Now that would be a race for the ages, to see a Democratic female nominee and a Republican female nominee running for president. It may happen down the road. But do not look for it to take place in the year 2024, because Trump is incapable of making the personal sacrifice that Joe Biden did. He is simply not characterologically wired in such a manner as to put his country or his party or anything at all in this world above himself. People who do that are “suckers” and “losers” remember? Haley spoke to Jake Tapper about Biden’s selfless act.
“I wasn’t surprised and I didn’t take happiness in it,” said Haley. “You know, I mean, I think through the whole campaign, you — I fought for mental competency tests. I wasn’t doing it to be disrespectful, wasn’t doing it to be mean. I was doing it because I think it’s not just Joe Biden. There is an issue that we have in D.C. where people will go into office and they won’t let go and then their staffers and their family keep propping them up and it’s a problem for the American people.”
“And so I never thought he would make it … I always said a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris,” she continued. “And I think that’s what’s playing out.”
She added, going back to her prior comments that the party that gets rid of their elderly nominee first is likely to win, that Democrats were “very smart” to pressure Biden to exit the race — but that they chose “the weakest candidate” they could to replace him.
Haley wishes. The handwriting is on the wall in neon that Harris has broken fundraising records, not to mention all the people that signed up to volunteer and best of all, all the new voter registrations that have taken place in just the past few days. This is a seismic event, all across the boards.
And yes, some people call it the “honeymoon” or the “sugar high” call it what you will, but we’re just slightly over three months away from the election and things are going swimmingly. Kamala Harris has tremendous momentum and this is exactly the time in an election to have that momentum.
Trump will debate Kamala soon and she will wipe the floor with him. It will be incredible. Both Biden and Trump were bad in the June 27 debate. The reason that the focus went to Biden is because everybody knew what Trump would do, lie, obfuscate, deflect, and it was expected that Biden would battle him back on more specifics. Instead, it was a poor showing for both parties involved.
But the Democrats fixed their problem. An elder statesman made the selfless choice and now the Democratic party is united behind its new standard bearer and people are enthusiastic about this election.
Trump doesn’t stand a chance. On some deep level he knows that, but since he’s the King of Denial, with respect to everything from his skin tone to his hair, both of which he persists in disguising ridiculously, thinking he’s presenting a youthful, handsome appearance, he’s not going to be able to process his impending loss very well.
People are sick of Donald Trump. He’s worn us out. And people had serious reservations about Joe Biden, which he has now handled beautifully.
So now it is a new day, and a new world. And there’s no room in this world for the tired old jokes of the Catskills comic. We’ve all seen the transgender weight lifter and heard about the sharks and the batteries and Hannibal Lecter. Enough already. Enough. Let’s put a sane and rational president in the White House, not restore the worst one in American history to that post.
And it will be interesting to see what the GOP does. Will he still be their standard bearer in 2028? Or is that automatically going to J.D. Vance, now?

Trump won’t step down, he can’t step down.
He needs to win. It’s the only way to make his many, many legal troubles go away.
Man, has he got bad news coming.
And a prison cell.
And everyone finding out what a loser he really is, when his teetering house of cards is dismantled to pay all the fines and rulings.
Here’s the thing I have been thinking about, we all remember 01/06/2021 when tRumps people stormed the People’s House. How he refused to call in the National Guard. I don’t think we will have a repeat of that because I am pretty sure that President Biden WILL call them in and make sure it is safe for all concerned. At least that is what I am hoping. Too many crazies out there these days.
If Harris’ campaign team has the sense given to your average 2-celled organism, it will use haley’s comment over, and over, and over, all through the campaign season.
V.P. Harris does not have this in the bag and anyone who thinks she does is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Here’s why:
There will be a reaction this November from the magats/far right and the only thing V.P. Harris will have in her favor will be her ability to attract more female voters, young voters, p.o.c. voters to outweigh the the mass of rwnj’s that will crawl out of the woodwork to make sure another person of color, and female to boot, doesn’t occupy the oval. If those voters do not add their weight to the regular dem voters, she will not win this election. Don’t forget, young voters, young female voters are usually too busy being glued to their phones to bother themselves with voting–this has never been a reliable voting block–and people of color are going to have to navigate all the new rules red states have been putting up to block their votes. To say a very strong and well-funded GOTV effort will be needed is an understatement.
No, V.P. Harris has a hard row to hoe and not a hell of a lot of time to do it. The over 80 million voters President Biden got last election might not be enough even if V.P. Harris gets THAT many. I am telling you folks–I am hearing interviews of former trump voters who were sick of his shit and were going to support President Biden in November AREN’T going to vote for V.P. Harris and are planning to go back to the mango moron. His crazy isn’t enough to overcome their unease at having a woman of color in the oval office. I never assume these are one-offs especially with former trump voters.
Gods, you are beyond pathetic.
Just go away. You can’t even keep your own narrative straight.
WHY, in the name of DOYC, would “former trump voters who were sick of his sh*t and were going to support President Biden” SUDDENLY decide to back Trump again–even though, they “were sick of his sh*t”–just because Kamala Harris (who was going to be Biden’s VP choice again) has been, for lack of a better word, “anointed” (and by none less than President Biden) to replace him?
What *I* read from this is that those “former trump voters” were telling the interviewers a load of bull–just like the folks told the pollsters back in 2016–and that once they got in the voting booth, or had their ballot in front of them ready to be filled out, they were going to vote for Trump. UNLESS you show some actual evidence of this “former trump voters, ready to vote for Biden but now they won’t because he’s been replaced by a woman” narrative, I’m going to treat it as a load of BS.
Your sexist comments get tiresome, Spike. Get a clue. It’s not just young women who stare at their phones, it’s pretty much everyone under the age of 60, both sexes and all orientations. Try avoiding misogynist generalizations in the future.
Well I hear and see phony Nikki’s jealousy foaming thru her false smile. She’s just as crooked as the Trump camp is…oh yeah! she used to work for him not us.
I noticed recently that his teased mop of hair is looking thinner and thinner. Maybe he needs to.feed the orangutans better.
