It’s been a long, hot summer and the temperature certainly spiked today, literally and figuratively, when our wonderful incumbent president made the decision to step aside. Let us respect that decision and move this program along to its necessary conclusion which is the preservation of democracy in America and the defeat, for the second time, of the toxic MAGA movement and the reality TV star who runs it. Take a look at what is now being released onto the airwaves this hot July Sunday as a preamble to what the next 100-some days will look like.

We’re about to find out the truth of one of Team Trump’s statements, and that is that they hope for nothing more than for Joe Biden to continue in the race. That hope has been dashed. Joe Biden has stepped aside and for now the nominee looks to be Kamala Harris, although that could certainly change.
That's what happened with reversing Roe v. Wade.

Word at Team Trump was that they wanted Joe to stay in the race so bad. Maybe they did. If that’s the case, then he has dashed their hopes. Meanwhile, another day drags by with no medical report vis a vis the Butler shooting and doctors are all chiming in that the possibility of brain trauma needs to be ruled out. Trump is silent on this score because he doesn’t want to have to admit the possibility that a piece of wood struck him and not an assassin’s bullet. Here’s what Trump posted on Truth Social when he heard the news about Biden stepping down.

Sounds desperate, doesn’t it? What we’re about to watch in the next 100-some days is Trump falling apart. He had his canned pitch, his canned talking points. He doesn’t know what to do with this yuge new variable which has just been introduced. It’s already thrown him totally off balance. He can’t accuse Kamala of doing what Joe did and all he has to say about what Joe did is the same old spaghetti sauce. He’s got nothing new.
It’s a ketchup filled afternoon in Bedminster or wherever Trump lays his head right now. The unthinkable just happened.
A thought just occurred to me. Kamala (or the official nominee and it looks like it’s Kamala) will be present for the second presidential debate. That is going to be an insane wipe out. Simply and utterly an insane wipe out. I can’t wait.

What is going to be the best ever is another woman of color is going to cause him to be a LOSER again if Kamala is the candidate!! But whoever is the candidate, Trump will absolutely lose. Vote straight Democrat ticket to save our democracy.

Really not wanting to come off as a bearer of bad news, much less a Cassandra (if you’re not familiar, look it up), but that line of thinking is EXACTLY what led us to Biden’s leaving the race. Or has everyone forgotten that Biden’s bad debate performance, which had been promoted for the previous month–especially on our side–as the thing that would annihilate Trump’s chances, ended up being a “disaster?”
Do NOT get your hopes too high. VP Harris is a damned good debater but so was President Biden. She’ll have learned any necessary lessons but will she be any more able to keep Trump from lying his way through the debate (especially if the “moderators” keep as mum as they did in the first debate) and STILL get her points across without coming off as too “learned” or too “preachy?” I don’t want to see VP Harris being promoted as delivering some kind of knockout punch to Trump’s hopes, only for her to “have a bad night,” followed by the “mainstream” media calling for her to drop out and have another round of “Democratic roulette” begin.
…..just a thought…..
VP Harris should come to the debate stage with a couple or three aides who’ll serve as fact-chrckers to rebut Velveeta Valdemort’s lies as he spouts them, announcing that they’ll be taking on that responsibility for the moderators since those at the first debate did so poorly at it. I’d expect Von Schitzenpantz to blow his top and storm off, leaving her with 90 minutes of air time to make her case.
In case the debate gets moved from ABC to Faux Nooz (can’t let that happen), the Trump-supporting moderators would probably cancel the rest of the event on the spot, which could leave them with 80-odd minutes of dead air time to fill.
…just a thought…..
