I seriously wondered how to bet if given a chance on whether “tough guy” Trump would show up at the Republican Convention proving his “man’s man” image pretending not even a bullet could damage him or put on a clearly visible bandage. Think about it, and Trump’s ego as well as how hard he tries to prove he’s fit and “athletic.” The bullet (or fragment but that’s a different story I might write) that barely nicked his ear created a bloody mess to be sure. Almost any wound to any part of the head will do that. I know from experience including getting my own ear(s) nicked with a pair of scissors during a careless moment during haircuts back when I had hair. And all guys have cut themselves shaving and sometimes enough the sucker is a real pain to stop bleeding.
I’m not at all surprised that even a grazing wound to his ear might bleed as much as we saw. But I also assumed it was a (luckily) minor wound that might require a stich or two to close up. Then the doc would put some antibiotic ointment on it and a small bandage to ward off infection and send Trump on his way. Take a good look at the title pic. Specifically that small white patch on the TOP of his ear. Maybe an inch-and-a-half square. The pic was taken as he was getting off his plane after arriving back home that night. Daily wound care (a little soap and water, antibiotic creme and a band-aid was all that would be needed until any stitches came out.
In other words, if Trump wanted to play Superman – not even a bullet can hurt me he could show up at the convention without even a band-aid on his ear. His floofy, duckass hairdo could easily conceal the stitches and he could slap on a band-aid once he was away from any cameras until his wound (and yes, although slight it’s a wound nonetheless) healed. But for the crowds he could play like that guy in the western The Quick and the Dead – the “Spotted Horse cannot be killed by a bullet” routine:
You just know part of Trump wanted to play it that way. At least until someone reminded him that after Russell Crowe’s character shot him that first time a kid tossed him another bullet (he was only allowed one buy Gene Hackman – the movie’s bad guy) and Crowe shot him again and killed him. But Trump would have loved hamming it up and I don’t doubt for a second that some serious discussion went on this past Sunday about how to play it.
In the end, as we saw yesterday when Trump showed up at the convention arena they decided to ham it up in a different way. Again, look at the bandage he left the hospital with. Clearly the nick from the bullet was at the top of his ear, and the rest of the blood you saw in the rally pictures ran down from it. Now think about that HUGE bandage covering his entire f**king ear! Basically they want to gaslight people into believing Trump was wounded far worse than he actually was! I fear people other than MAGA’s might buy this bullshit and oh how Trump could spin it:
My ear was almost ripped off. The doctors and nurses couldn’t believe how massive the damage was. Big strong doctors had tears streaming down their faces seeing my ear hanging there by the tiniest flap of skin. They said no one had ever had a bullet wound that bad. But luckily they had a great plastic surgeon able to re-attach my ear. He said anyone but me would have lost the ear. But my genes are so good within a couple of weeks it will be good as new. That between his skill and my remarkable healing powers – he said he’d never seen a wound like that literally start healing before his eyes – I won’t even have a scar.
THAT is some pure Trumpian stuff and if not in those words that seems to be how he’s going to play this. Simply being saved/ordained by God himself who breathed a puff of wind from heaven to spare The Donald at the critical moment isn’t good enough for Trump. HE has to insert his very own magical powers into his survival. (The fact is the kid who shot him was a lousy shot but that’s the stuff of multiple different articles)
The problem with this picture Trump wants to paint is the same problem he so often has. Facts and the truth and he’s got to be furious there are “receipts.” In the form of tons of video and photos making it clear that despite all that blood he was extremely lucky and only got nicked with a small flesh wound. It’s clear no “bigly” chunk of his ear was blown off, much less that it was almost entirely ripped from his fat ugly head.
But the question I had has been answered. Trump’s vanity knows no bounds but he’s chosen to wear a HUGE white bandage this week. To FLAUNT what’s actually a small wound that could be covered by a band-aid. He’s decided it will play well on TV and we’re talking Trump and how it looks on TV is all that matters to him. So the question moving forward is how long he will play up the HUGE bandage covering his entire ear? I don’t know but it will be interesting to see.
However again I ask you to look at the title pic. THAT my friends proves that Trump is hamming it up this week with a bandage that covers his entire f**king ear! I just wish the pundits would point that out. Show the title pic, and compare it to the bandage he’s wearing this week and ask who he’s trying to fool. Maybe one or more of the late night comedians will do a segment on it? Or even the Lincoln Project? Let’s hope so. An argument could be made it would be in bad taste. But the grade school yard part of me is saying HE STARTED IT!

Well, he does have a reputation of being a serious germaphobe. Being an old fart growing up mostly surrounded by three women (dad wasn’t around the house much after I was eight) I seem to recall the term “Sanitary Napkin” – a polite way for referring to what was used prior to tampons. So thinking about THAT it makes perfect sense he’d wear a “Sanitary Napkin.” Being the way he is I imagine he’d have avoided women during “icky” times and learning the term!

I called it the minute I saw him with the blood dripping down. He will be sure to wear that huge dressing throughout the convention this week. Beyond that, I can’t say.
He will wear it as long as he can grift off of it. He is like that about every other thing so why not this?
