I predicted on Friday that J.D. Vance, the Ugly MAGAmerican, would be annointed Donald Trump’s vice president. That piece got very few views but you might want to glance at it because it outlines what I believed to be Trump’s thinking and clearly I was right, or maybe just lucky. Vance is there because he’s toxic. Neither Burgum nor Rubio have the raw toxicity of Vance. That’s why he’s on the ticket.
Now here’s what you need to know going forward about the Trump campaign and we are going to codify these things into a rulebook. And some of this is hard to swallow but swallow it we must because this is the reality of our world going into the 2024 election.
The Mass Media Is Already Crowning Trump the Winner
We are in some deep doo doo here. The push towards this country becoming a kleptocracy, exactly like what exists in Russia, is now on. The media is owned by a handful of billionaire interests and your guess is as good as mine how much truth will be published versus how much propaganda. Salvation lies at the ballot box, still. But the road to the ballot box is going to be strewn with lies.
Your job: Tell people to vote. Educate as many as you can.
The B.S. Campaign About Biden Stepping Down Is Still Going On
Less than an hour ago a new notification popped up on my screen and informed me “Pelosi – Convinced Biden Will Lose – Is Working the Phones.” Come fucking on. I don’t believe that Pelosi is convinced Biden will lose. I do believe that legitimate concerns were voiced after the June 27 debate, yes, that would be normal. But this massive outcry, “replace Biden” never took place because these people are realists. There is no better choice for Biden or the person would have already been chosen.
Your job: Tell people it’s bullshit, it’s not going to happen. The choice this fall is Trump or Biden, period, end of discussion.
The Assassination Attempt Has Elevated Trump To “God’s Chosen” — For MAGA

For MAGA, this is the moment of martyrdom, the ascent of Trump to “God’s chosen” status, a man whom even an assassin’s bullet won’t stop. The cult had already hardened in the belief that Trump is their divine instrument of social retribution, and this cements it in a Kim-style North Korean juche.
The MAGA cult describes the shooting as a product of the left, center, and center-right criticism of Trump, with no memory of his various incidents of violence, his role in the January 6th attack, his us-or-them I-am-your-retribution Waco-launched campaign. He wanted permission to act like an authoritarian leader with none of the rebukes that role should naturally earn in a civilized nation.
The MAGA cult and culture see this moment as utter vindication of the God Emperor Trump, a remedy for all his moral and personal sins. The nick on his ear from either the bullet or shattered glass from the bullet striking the teleprompter is Trump’s Wounds of Christ. For them, it’s religious.
We are in nut country, now, which is a comment that John F. Kennedy made to his wife as they deplaned that fatal day in Dallas. This Christ-like identification of Donald Trump is sheer bonkers — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t real and an element of this election going forward. Which is why I include it in the rulebook.
Your job: Tell people to get a grip on themselves. We live in the real world.
Conspiracy Theories Are Popping Up Like Weeds
The conspiracy world defies ideology, and for them, the shooting was fungible in its meaning. One Never Trumper, desperate for relevance, got too deeply into her Chardonnay trough and spent the weekend promoting the theory that this was a Bob Roberts-style set-up by Trump and his team, betraying a lack of understanding of firearms, planning, or conspiracies.
On the MAGA right, the storyline was that the Secret Service was in on it, allowing the shooter to approach so closely because of…I kid you not…DEI. The alternate reality industry is in overdrive and will be so for generations.
The conspiracy theorists are spinning fables about how Biden ordered the FBI to do a hit and the Secret Service is in on it. Who knows what will come up next. But yes, the Secret Service did err by allowing any rooftop to go unguarded that was within 400 yards of the stage. 400 yards is nothing.
Your job: This is all under investigation. So far it looks like a loner with a gun. And we may never know anything beyond that, but best to stay in the real world until something happens to discredit this theory.
What Really Happened On Saturday
This is opinion at this point but again I let Rick Wilson tell it. He’s the only one to mention the possibility of glass flying off of the teleprompter, which is my personal theory. He mentioned earlier, “The nick on his ear from either the bullet or shattered glass from the bullet striking the teleprompter is Trump’s Wounds of Christ.” I suppose it could have been from the bullet but I think it was a piece of glass.
A final note on the shooting itself: be grateful the shooter was raised on video games and not actual shooting in the field. From what I can determine of the angles, distance, and wind direction, he didn’t account for windage, and the bullet thankfully passed to the right of Trump’s head. We were extremely fortunate Crooks didn’t understand his weapon: the 5.56/.223 rounds from his AR have pretty shoddy ballistics and likely drifted 1.5-2.5 inches from his point of aim.
For the Secret Service… allowing a shooter so close is unthinkable. 400 feet is nothing. I’ve put rounds on steel at 400 meters, albeit with a much heavier round. Also, what in hell were the Secret Service and local law enforcement doing that day? I’ve been to dozens of Presidential events, and the Secret Service is the most vital element in protecting the President. Local law enforcement does most perimeter work, but this seems like a massive, epic failure.
Your job: Tell people the facts known. It was a lonely, isolated kid with no friends. AND he was a registered Republican who voted in the 2022 election. There is no evidence of Antifa, the Deep State, anybody else other than this lone shooter who picked Trump instead of a celebrity or a school.
The Bottom Line: The Election Is Still A Referendum On Trump
Nothing has changed. The media may now be scoring Trump as the winner, because they want to preserve their relationships with him, but make no mistake: Trump is still a convicted felon and an adjudicated rapist. Whether he was nicked by glass or a bullet, he’s still the same spray-tanned clown who lies once every 90 seconds and who had a catastrophic four years in office.

We are in for the fight of our lives, friends. It has been made all the more difficult and challenging because we do not have the media telling the truth, for the most part, we have it catering to financial interests. America can remain a democracy or it can crater and become a fascist kleptocracy. That’s where we stand.
The only sure way to lose is to give up. Not gonna happen with those of us who understand what the American Nazi Party, i.e., the gop has planned for our children’s future. Every fight has setbacks. Let those fools celebrate a lying rapist. The truth is a hard thing to kill. In fact, it’s impossible. So let’s endure the shitstorm until the citizens step up to turn the tide to justice.

Can one of you great writers here link to a letter that we can flood the House and Senate calling for support of President Biden, calling for them to get off their a$$e$ and start putting up signage and campaign ads for themselves, for their fellow Democrats, for President Biden, rather than the ONLY signs out there being for the magapublicans? It’s always this way. Democrats wait until the month before the election before putting out ads, signage, if they do it at all. We need to flood the House and Senate with support for President Biden, with the concern for what will happen if orange jeebus wins the election somehow, etc., and perhaps convince them to actually DO SOMETHING!!! A nicely written, clear, concise letter, detailing what is needed to win this election, what is at stake, etc., will go a long way toward starting to help this cause. A list of the Representatives and Senators can be obtained on line with their email addresses and official addresses available. I’ll do my part. I think we all will. We need a strong grassroots campaign here! But it must be done by someone who is up on all the facts and who can write eloquently. Anyone here up for that job? I am retiring and I will flood their emails and mail with these letters. But I need a good, strong, intelligent letter to begin this!! Please?
Focus on the message: an honest public servant delivered 4 years of quiet consistent achievement who will build on that to deliver more of the same

I read that article and I agreed with you but with extreme reluctance, hoping it couldn’t happen and thought of how you were right. Is this what they are talking about when they say, Dems as well as R’s, when they are clamoring bring in fresh younger faces; selfish, heartless egotists, who want power, and can act and bluster like Rambo? Most wisdom comes later in life, from experience and sorrow. I would prefer leaders of the world were not young. Vance is 39, Kamala in her late 50’s with an inborn maturity I don’t see in J.D.

I’ve seen one image that looks very similar to the iconic Iwo Jima photo. The only difference is the Iwo Jima photo has an American flag flying correctly and the trump photo has the flag upside down. That seems like a strange coincident to me.

I.write about this on my Facebook page. I have had some experience with the Secret Service back in 1972 long before they got a lot more stringent after Reagan. They had,already tightened security after JFK and RFK but still not as strong as after Reagan.
We were having a cocktail.party,,and the next office over had a door in a place where they needed to.place me and and an agent, checking names of the guest list. They took down the names of everyone in that office,,and did background checks. They were informed that one hour before the party, they had to be gone or wait until the party was over. They even examined the silk plants in our office and the other one. Twice. The day before the party, and the day of. They had checked everyone with the catering and bartenders. They had an agent with me at the entrance, another at the elevator, two at the party,, and two in the lobby, one at the elevator, another trying to look.inconspicuous while hiding beside a,potted plant wearing a,fedora,and French coat and talking to his,wrist watch, apparently emu!sting Dick Tracy. And all.of this while simply having Gerald Ford walk 3 steps into the building after the entire block along with one behind and one ahead of it were closed off. I suspect they had cleared rooftops too.
This never should have happened. They should have at the very least,,gotten names of people in the buildings and secured rooftops to avoid a lone gunman like Oswald or Hinckley. And way beyond ,400 feet. Heads,will and should roll.over this complete failure.
And while we are at it, we deserve to know if it was a bullet or flying glass and whether the retired fire chief was hit by a,stray bullet from the shooter or the Secret Service. And why did they allow Trump to bellow “Fight!” and fist pump when it wasn’t yet clear if there was only one shooter or he had backup.
