Interesting how the race for VP is revving up. It’s less than one month now, friends. The Republican National Convention, which I predict will be a pyrotechnic shitshow of epic proportion, starts in less than one month and the VP Hunger Games will be decided at that time. The convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Donald Trump will be crowned — except he may be crowned at Mar-a-Lago. You see, on July 11, four days before the convention starts, Justice Juan Merchan will be pronouncing sentence on Donald Trump. That sentence could include home confinement.
Trump’s former Communications Director @Scaramucci: Trump has broken the law. He's a convicted felon. He won't listen to his gag order. He's going after witnesses. He's going after the judge and his daughter. He's challenging the court to sentence him pic.twitter.com/IFsjMwkr8Q

Yes, he is challenging the judge. And this particular judge has shown that he is no doormat. Justice Merchan has been far fairer to Trump than he deserved, but he also has enforced the law. Expect this situation to be no different.
But, moving along to Doug Burgum and his latest non sequitur, I think that he’s trying to say that Trump is winning big with Hispanics, not against them. Or, maybe it’s a Freudian slip and Burgum is really saying that POCs are the enemy and certainly that’s been Republican dogma for any number of years.

There’s little doubt in anybody’s mind but that whomever is Trump’s VP would in fact be the next Dick Cheney. That is simply how it stacks up. So Trump may in fact want somebody who knows how government works. Maybe he’ll pick Elise Stefanik for that reason. Maybe J.D. Vance. Or, he could pick this guy, Burgum. Burgum looks the part of the old school Republican. He’s making all the right noises, about how great Trump is. Maybe Trump would want to have him around as an echo chamber.
Additionally, Burgum could direct some cash into the Trump coffers, always an asset. That’s about all that Burgum could contribute, would be image and money, but that’s plenty for Trump right now.
Trump may not intend a VP with the power that Dick Cheney had. He may pass all that off to Stephen Miller or get Jared and Ivanka back on board. Again, it’s a crap shoot. Who knows what Trump would do if elected again? May we never have to find out.
For now I think it’s safe to say that Trump will go for image in the campaign and if Burgum can lend the ambiance of old school Republican approval, along with getting big checks written, that might just get him on the ticket.

Burgum as Pence 2.0.
I’ll bet it would be without the adoring gaze.
but probably no different otherwise.
He’s probably looking for Gerald Ford 2.0, which will save him from the “self-pardon” nonsense that it is. But, not from the state crimes, fortunately for us.
