This is a curious development but then again, politics makes for strange bedfellows and so does prison, or the impending promise of prison. You remember Michael Avenatti who was Stormy Daniels’ lawyer for a while and also quite the darling of the Left, until the Daily Beast did an expose on him and his spendthrift dishonest dealings. That piece was prompted by oppo research when Avenatti was considering throwing his hat in the ring for president of the United States. He had a lot of people fooled prior to the Daily Beast article.
Avenatti then extorted Nike, ripped off a lot of his clients and ended up going to prison. He’s also serving time now for defrauding Stormy Daniels. He’s had a lot of time to think, apparently, and he’s decided that Donald Trump is getting a rough break and Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen are the bad guys, and Trump’s the good guy. This is after stealing $300,000 from Stormy Daniels, to boot.

Now the date on the MAGA Mike post is October of last year so I’m guessing that Avenatti decided to throw in his lot with Trump’s last year? In any event, Avenatti was interviewed in prison and here are his views on the hush money case.
“You know, I think the case has a lot of problems. Now that does not —I don’t mean to suggest that that means that Trump will not be convicted because I think he will be convicted,” Avenatti said.
The former president is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a payment his ex-fixer, Michael Cohen, made to porn actress Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about an alleged affair with Trump.
Avenatti, who was Daniels’ former attorney, is currently serving time in prison for stealing book proceeds from his former client. An appeals court last month held up a 2022 ruling that sentenced him to four years in prison and required him to pay $148,000 in restitution and forfeit the roughly $297,000 that prosecutors say he stole from Daniels.
Avenatti said in the interview that the case should not be tried in state court.
“And I think it rests on a legally tenuous theory, namely that the crime that was attempted to be covered up was a federal election crime. I think that could be a problem potentially on appeal for the state,” he said.
The former attorney then reiterated that he thinks Trump will be convicted, but that it may not hold up once he likely appeals.
“And I think it’s going be tested on appeal when Trump is convicted. And again, I think he will be convicted. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going hold up,” he said.
“I believe if you’re going bring a case against a sitting president or a former president, who tens of millions of people support, especially in today’s day and age with how divided we are, I think it needs to be a rock-solid, lock tight, nearly perfect prosecuted case. Because otherwise, you run a huge risk as to what it’s going mean for the country,” he added.
There are people who believe that this case is rock solid and lock tight. That’s precisely why it took so long to get rolling. That’s precisely why it’s taken all of these cases so long to get rolling, a rock solid, lock tight case does not come along instantly, it needs to be worked up and perfected.
In any event, it’s music to Trump’s ears that Avenatti now agrees with him. Gone are the days when Avenatti and Trump used to spar on Twitter. No, now all is love and kisses between the disbarred jailhouse lawyer and the soon to be convicted criminal defendant who bears the standard of the Grand Old Party.
And again we will point out, for a case to be appealed there has to be some appealable issue or some reversible issue that happens during the trial. Let’s see how the trial goes. Right now Michael Avenatti, the disbarred lawyer, is talking out his ass, which is something he’s great at. That’s what has gotten him his current 6′ x 9′ residential suite in a penitentiary. Frankly, I’m wondering what the hell Ari Melber was thinking about to drag Avenatti into this but then I know the answer: ratings.
This insane reality TV show we all live in has been renewed for yet another day. Let’s see where the Trump as convicted criminal subplot(s) goes. That portion of our show has a terrific episode coming up on Monday and it will go on for the next six to eight weeks and most likely end in a conviction. Then I guess Trump will appeal it. At least since this is a criminal and not a civil matter, he won’t have monetary damages to find a bond to cover, so there is that cold comfort, since he doesn’t seem to be too savvy in the bond department.

I’m furious with Melber for platforming this guy for over fifteen minutes. Then again it’s not the first time Melber has annoyed the hell out of me. There didn’t seem to be much pushback of Avenatti trashing Daniels. An idiot can see why Avenatti did so. He cheated Daniels out of several hundred thousand and got so distracted with his own fame and ambitions he started to neglect his legal representation of her. So she took him to court and won and for an asshole with his level of ego he wants payback. Then there are the multiple other clients and lawyers (partners) he defrauded and/or stole from. And HE is going to attack Michael Cohen’s ethics?
Granted Cohen has issues but I always bear in mind that for all the sleaze the only thing that got Cohen in the kind of legal trouble that resulted in criminal charges was for a time lying under oath to protect Trump. Perjury is serious and Cohen paid a price. However, the whole affair with Daniels that got him into that trouble and eventually prison doesn’t change the facts of the case about to start in Manhattan. And just as when he went before Congress, Cohen openly admits he committed perjury – on behalf of Donald Trump! More importantly though is that he’s got receipts. Literally. Written records to include cancelled payoff checks. Recorded phone calls, and who knows what else?
Avenatti I guess has been craving the spotlight again, and is pissed enough at being in prison (where he will be for years to come) that he wants revenge. Maybe he should be careful because if he can’t back up some of the claims he’s making, especially about Daniels he might wind up being sued for defamation himself!
It’s all about the benjamins denis. Melber is a whore like so many others in the msm.
Avenatti and Trump.
Birds of a feather flock together.
By NOW, the whole world knows about Trump’s difficulty with using his junk with a pneumatic porn star … “Short and like a mushroom”, “He fooled around for awhile”, awesome how the truth makes Trump so scared and beyond reason in his failing speeches …
He has NO ideas about how a sane, intelligent person should/would have avoided being in a jam with Stormy in the first place … Next fragmented, stupid speech action on his part, had better be silenced for his own benefit … Which, ultimately means he will have to zip it up for three or four weeks … The sweat beads on his forehead, could signal an out and out stroke coming … No where to dump his vile rhetoric and public stupidity … So sad for him, amusing for us …
The rest of his trial periods will certainly exceed the pressure he now enjoys, his disqualification as a future president elect, will be permanently engraved on his very long ties …
I can hardly wait to see how the courts will start culling his properties, after fair and legal estimates of value, it may take many units to cover his 175 million responsibility … 🙂 🙂
