If Satan was the Father Of All Lies, then certainly he’s got a contender in Donald Trump. Satan and Trump have the same motivation, to deceive, confuse, manipulate and conquer. Trump had hearings in two courts today, one to set a trial date in the hush money case and the other to lower Trump’s bond in the now settled Trump Organization fraud trial. All that happened with the appellate court is that they ruled to accept a lower bond, $175M, in lieu of the previous bond of $454M. But Trump didn’t report things that way on Truth Social. He lied to MAGA. Why? Two reasons: 1. He can retain the illusion of being big and all powerful and 2. He can get them to keep parting with their money.

Trump is spinning this as some kind of a big victory because in doing so he can get the MAGAs to open their wallets. Again. And again. All he did was get his bond reduced. He “won” nothing and he is still 100% liable for the $454M judgment unless he wins on appeal. Legal experts are not pleased with the bond reduction. Here’s what Joyce Vance said:
“So here’s the problem. When we think about these sorts of appeals bonds, the numbers are sky high and we don’t always stop to account for what they’re supposed to do,” she began, explaining the purpose of a bond. “This bond is Donald Trump’s promise that he will be able to pay the judgment if he loses on appeal. In essence, the people of New York say you have a right to take an appeal to do that. But we’re entitled to collect our judgment. And this is Trump’s way of saying no all’s good. I believe I might win my appeal, but I’m willing to pay this money and to show that I’m willing to comply with the rule of law.”
“And that’s the problem here. Donald Trump is not willing to comply with the rule of law. In my judgment, it was a mistake for the court to reduce this amount of money because even if he pays $175 million in cash into the court fund it won’t secure the entire judgment if he loses on appeal. And that’s the whole point of what this is intended to do.”
Attorney Tristan Snell, a former New York State Assistant Attorney General who successfully prosecuted the $25 million Trump University case, denounced what he says is Trump’s “special treatment.”
“Donald Trump has a private jet. Donald Trump lives in private clubs. Donald Trump assembled a private militia to attack the Capitol. Now he gets his own private system of justice — available to him alone. NO ONE ELSE would get the special treatment he gets. NO ONE should.”
“Appellate judges hand Trump a gift,” Snell continued, “cut bond down to $175 million, give him 10 extra days Imagine a basketball team down by 40 points, and with 1:00 left in the game, refs give the losing team 5 more minutes — and lower the hoop from 10ft to 6ft.”
The beat goes on. Trump gets a break once again. Because I believe in Lady Karma having the last word, ultimately, this doesn’t bother me much. Trump may have won another battle but he’s going to lose the war. I firmly believe that. Trump is getting pampered, preferential treatment so he can’t claim (although he will) that he’s being treated unfairly.
Three weeks until the Stormy Daniels hush money trial. This is going to be good. And hey, if you see or hear anything about Trump hiring an appellate lawyer, do drop us a line here and quickly. I look for that everyday. Trump is all smoke and mirrors.
And he may be able to come up with $175M but make no mistake, he’s hurting. He had less than $11,000 in small dollar donations in February, according to the FEC, and the big donors are not writing him checks right now.
This isn’t 2016. In 2016 Trump’s act was new and he was an iconoclast. Nobody had ever seen a show like the one he put on. Then he got in office and we saw him kill 1.2 million Americans with his mishandling of COVID and everything he botched up. Then we saw what he did on January 6 and how he has lied about the election ever since.
So Trump has a lot more strikes against him this time than he did in 2016. Plus, this time out he’s stupid enough to tell Nikki Haley supporters they’re not welcome in MAGA and he doesn’t need their vote.
The man is insane and he’s on a self destruct course. Just keep watching.

Ok, so when he loses his appeal, he pays up or his sh*t gets sold at whatever the f*ck prices can be had for his p.o.s. properties, or whatever is available to be sold (the guy is over collateralized to the max). If he cannot come up with the money and after selling his sh*t doesn’t make up the difference, I guess it’s getting taken out of his taxes, bill collectors call him, daily/nightly, and/or maybe he declares (finally) personal bankruptcy. So, yeah, don’t get your knickers in a knot. Not yet at least. I’ll get mine in a knot if the appeal goes his way. I just don’t see that tho’-Ms. James was VERY good.
The issue IS THE HYPOCRISY OF THE LAW! I was cheated on in a no fault state after 12 years of marriage and going through 6 years of infertility and adoption to get my two daughters. I lost everything, my house, my retirement, my land, AND MY KIDS because of my ex having a lawyer who was friends with the judge. I spent 20k for a divorce agreement after already given my ex MY HOUSE I paid on for ten years to keep her from running off with the kids. When SHE violated my joint custody by withholding my 3 year old and 6 year old for four months I took her back to court. She wasn’t punished. I was by the judge nullifying my legal agreement and making my support 3x what it had been. Later, during the 2009 meltdown of the economy, I lost my job. I was then sent to jail several times for not having the money to cover 1200./month child support although I had handed over 100k of equity in my house. There’s the law for you. The last time I had an interview the next day I couldn’t attend because I was led out of the courtroom in leg irons and hand cuffs. Yet this criminal is coddled EVERY GODDAMN STEP OF THE WAY. THE LAW IS FULL OF SHIT AND HAS BEEN FROM THE JUMP. This is just another example. Don’t bother arguing with me. I know from experience…anyone who thinks otherwise is just as full of shit as trump.
100% agree with you.
I have personal examples from my own life.
The law…beauracrats with guns. Nothing more. Nothing less.
you were correct that tacopina said a defendant needs an appellate specialist but I think he meant one should have such a specialist. I don’t think it’s an actual rule. the way she talks I think he’ll stick with habba and the other lawyers on the case. cool.
“Three weeks until the Stormy Daniels hush money trial”
Except it’s not really that, it’s really the “Trump campaign cheating campaign finance laws trial”, involving fraudulent claims of what money was spent, and where,
I don’t get it. Why was his bond reduced? Did the court explain its reasoning? Why is the USA allowing this criminal to flaunt its laws and then brag about it? Color me confused but very angry.
Exactly., he has his own private system of justice. Shameful!
