A 17-second clip of Donald Trump’s Dayton, Ohio rally is going viral. That is the one wherein he threatens a bloodbath if he’s not reelected. Look for this to be immediately packaged into an attack ad and rightfully so. Trump is a terrorist and some of his MAGA cultists may be keyboard warriors but we know from grim experience that some of them are jackbooted thugs. We learned that on January 6 when the gallows went up, the Capitol was breached and seven people died.
This man is out on bail, in several jurisdictions, in several cases…
When does one of these judges order his bond revoked and remands him into custody pending the trial(s) he is facing?
And who else in our system would get away with things like this?

I can guarantee you that any other criminal defendant talking this way publicly would have their bail revoked. But, as we’ve seen, Trump gets away with things that you can’t imagine anybody would get away with. And as always, it’s due to his GOP enablers. They won’t stop their monster. They created it and now it’s roaming the countryside, threatening violence, but they won’t stop their creation. We have to stop it.

Like somehow that’s more important, to talk about some lapse of judgement on his or Fani Willis’ part, than to address the fact that we have a lunatic running for president and threatening a “bloodbath” if and when he loses. That’s nothing of note, but somebody’s love affair at work is. Terrific priorities, assignment editors and producers. Just what I’m sure you learned in journalism school.

Bread and circus, fun and games, funny ha ha. Is this how the democratic experiment ends, Americans are too apathetic or jaded to realize this clown is a menace and so they hand him the keys to the White House, again, and we are no longer a democracy? Trump walks in, takes over as dictator and then says, “You knew I was a snake when you took me in. And by the way, I was joking about dictator for a day. I plan to be dictator for life and then turn the role over to one of my numbskull sons. Or maybe Ivanka.”
It might be comical in theory, but the reality of a second Trump term will not be the least bit amusing, I guarantee you that right now.

Now you can’t see you feet, so someone else helps you into your girdle, your depends and does your hair and makeup. There are real bad hombres in the joint and you’ll be their favorite toy.

It is traditional after a President’s second inauguration for the members of the cabinet to meet. With the cameras rolling the President thanks them and lists things that were accomplished in the first administration. Smiles all around as pictures are taken and then the President leaves and the press is ushered out of the room. And THEN the Chief of Staff formally notifies them to have their resignations on the President’s desk before the end of the day!
Many intended to serve only one term anyway so no big deal. Others who came on later in the first term might wish to stay on, if only for some level of continuity. The point of the exercise is to give the President the option of retaining anyone who has indicated a desire or willingness to stay on, or to clear decks of those who were of relatively little use.
In Garland’s case one can hope Biden would pointedly tell him not to let the doorknob hit him in the ass on the way out, and that if he doesn’t hurry it will!
That observation is right. Assuming Biden wins, I suspect Garland will offer his “notice”. And Biden will accept. As for hold-overs: Louis DeJoy should have been gone by now. President can’t hire or fire the postmaster General directly. But the USPS Board is mostly Biden’s. And they can be “let go”.
Thing is, we need garland out yesterday. He’s not doing his job, at least not competently, and right now we need the head of DoJ to be extraordinarily competent and proactive. When a political opponent threatens everyone against him with violence, it is WAY PAST time to put the criminal into prison. This pussy-footing around just because the mango moron is “running for re-election” (i.e. doing some MORE grifting) is going to destroy our nation.
You know, after seeing several of these articles featuring Trump’s speaking engagement, I started thinking about how Trump’s missing a prime moneymaking scheme involving his MAGA crap: MAGA-emblazoned fedoras. I mean, sure, the baseball cap look is “casual” but it just does NOT go with a suit, not even when the suit has no tie. But a fedora? Or a homburg? Yeah. Those would work and they look classier, ESPECIALLY with a suit (even the ill-fitted suits that Trump always insists on wearing). But Trump’s insistence on that stupid ball cap while wearing those ill-fitting suits simply makes him look like trash. Why his “fans” can’t seem to understand that he’s NOT one of them, that he’s actually making fun of them, is absurd. I can’t imagine that ANY of his male “fans” would ever think of wearing a ball cap with a suit, no matter how casual the event. Yet, Trump is there in front of them, wearing a suit and that stupid ball cap.
Another example that Trump can say fuck-all and not a goddamn thing will come of it. I hate to burst optimistic bubbles, but Humper will NOT see a day behind bars. Even a conviction BEFORE November AND LOSING the election. Not a day. None. House arrest at Turd-a-Lago (passport confiscated) is the best we can expect. A win in November will “cancel” any conviction.
