As you’ve seen from some of the earlier posts here tonight, Donald Trump won New Hampshire by nine points. He then proceeded to trash his opponent and fellow Republican, (at least on paper) Nikki Haley. Haley has announced that she will stay in through Super Tuesday. Good, say I. Why? Because her not folding tonight and giving Trump the crown infuriates him. That’s the main reason.
But there are more. He’s going to keep attacking Haley and as he does so, she has an opportunity to do two things: 1. Shore up her future political street cred. Ron DeSantis is finished in politics because of the way he played his hand, but Haley, if she’s a smart cookie, can bank a lot of good will for some future post; 2. Expose Trump for the fraud and idiot he is. Let’s face it, IF there is to be a future GOP, or some future conservative party without Trump, he needs to be purged. She can participate in that purge and thereby gain bipartisan respect. Back to Trump, here’s part of his delusionary speech tonight.
