Call me mean-spirited. I don’t care. I was doing one last scan of internet news before calling it a night and this story from Lovemoney caught my eye. It seems once upon a time Trump’s father Fred had the family living in a nice mock Tudor style house in upscale Jamaica Estates in Queens. Trump lived there the first four years of his life before they moved. But it was his childhood home. Childhood homes and prior residences of American Presidents have often been turned into museums, and Trump’s adoring MAGA fans naturally believed his first home should be purchased and turned into some kind of Trump shrine.
It’s not a dump, and certainly not so humble as say a small cabin Abe Lincoln lived in back in my home state of Illinois. (Which has been preserved and being not too far from where I grew up I once visited) It’s a modest by today’s standards home. Reasonably sized at 2500 square feet with five bedroom and four and a half baths. Good sized living and dining rooms. Not awesome or anything but a decent enough place. It last sold in 2017 for 2.1 million, having been “flipped” by someone who bought it a year earlier for 1.4 million.
The article notes Trump once told Jimmy Fallon he’d flirted with the idea of buying the place, saying “I had a really nice childhood.” Well, we all know THAT’s not true but given Trump’s ego and supposed wealth coughing up a couple million or more for a place that he could charge admission to “Come see Trump’s Childhood Home! Only 25 bucks for a tour!” with (of course) Trump merchandise for sale too would seem just the kind of thing Trump would do. But he didn’t. It’s not like he’s all that popular back in NY and as for visitors, who the f**k is going to trek all the way out to some neighborhood in Queens? Trump, being who is is probably figured that at some point MAGAs would take it upon themselves to come up with the money and create this “shrine” to him.
Sure enough he was right. Well, partly. They DID give the ole non-college try. I guess the thought of some mysterious investor from “Chy-ner” trying (and failing) to make money by renting it out as an Airbnb was more than they could bear. So, when it went on the market for 2.9 million a Gofundme effort was initiated, with a goal of raising 3 million. To turn it into a museum or whatever Trump felt was appropriate. It’s raised a grand total of:
$7,148 or to put it in true perspective .2 percent of the goal!
That’s gotta sting and more than a little bit! In fact, from where I sit it’s downright humiliating. Scrolling through the panel things started out ok with even some $500 donations but it interest waned fairly quickly and the last donation (ten bucks) was four months ago. Two years and barely 7k raised.
Hey, Trump would take great delight in kicking any one of us if we were down so I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this new humiliation of him.

That sounds about right.
Something associated with Trump is worth 0.2% of what is claimed.
Honestly, who in the world would want a place that likely still has the stench of trump’s inadequacies and overdone steak farts wafting throughout.
I thought that they were gonna rename the porn store next to Four Seasons after Traitor Tot! If they would have raised enough and bought the house, the health department would probably make them have it thoroughly deloused and fumigated!
“That’s gotta sting” I really wish people would stop using nonwords such as “gotta, gonna, wanna” etc. It makes them look like they flunked their English grammar classes in elementary school. It is extremely easy to use “got to”, “going to”, “want to”, etc. instead.
While I probably don’t agree with this case, i.e. “gotta” I do take umbrage at “Ima”. This is now used often on social media. It means “I am going to…” as in “Ima make me a cheese sandwich”. Wow! Just Wow!
Well I would say the reason Trump didn’t but it probably was they wouldn’t give him commercial zoning on it to charge for the tours and sell the merchandise. Got a friend that has a house on a main road in town and he has something of a perpetual yard sale. They came by and gave him a bunch of crap about his not taking down and moving everything inside and he then pulled out his deed at some point. Knowing him probably after the morons got him in court and showed them that the house and property has a commercial designation and can be operated as a business with inventory stored conveniently on the premises. But I doubt old Freddy would have gone to the trouble to get the property changed to commercial back when they would sign just about anything. Them already having an office in one of their buildings they were screwing the government on. Come to think of it I didn’t see much about woman in New York handing Trumps a$$ to him over his taxes. 2.2 billion dollars is a lot of zeroes to accidentally write.
