In still developing news Raw Story and ABC News are reporting a news conference Trump has planned for Monday might not happen after all. His lawyers seem to have a notion he’ll say something that will complicate his defense.
Now why on earth would they go thinking crazy thoughts like that?
Just kidding folks. Trump and his big fat mouth have long been his own worst enemy and he’s already publicly said plenty that’s bitten him in his big ole orange azz. If you don’t believe me read through the various indictments. Over ninety charges in four separate jurisdictions against him alone, and sure enough some of what Trump has said and/or posted on Trump’s “The Truth is what I say it is Social” can be found in them. Now, sounding like his old pal Mike Lindell (his own latest “big reveal” press event flopped earlier this week) he promises he’s got evidence that “Like totally, completely proves I’m totally innocent and EVERYTHING I did was PERFECT.” Unlike Lindell I don’t expect crazy stuff like pages of “internet packets” or some crackpot theories. No, this is Trump and he’s got “actual irrefutable evidence.” (Again, just kidding!)
Ten bucks says when asked for it he’ll have a “report” to wave around with a fancy cover sheet over a bunch of blank pages, or maybe in case it fans out as he waves it around it will be some document about whatever so he doesn’t get caught with the empty page stuff again. He might even, as he’s done before have stack of manila folders filled with paper (with nothing printed on a single page) that he’ll point to and claim it’s all the supporting “evidence.” AND “promise” he will make it ALL available to anyone who asks “in a couple of weeks.” If you’re reading this your smart enough to know a sucker bet when you see it!
Still, his lawyers are sweating bullets because they are going to be standing in front of judges other than Aileen “Loose” Cannon and unlike her the other judges are going to be asking some very pointed questions, citing crap Trump has ALREADY said! Stuff that would have any other criminal defendant in the lockup without internet/social media privileges while awaiting trial. At this point his lawyers are experiencing true terror about what he’ll say at that presser, especially with reporters shouting questions at him!
“Sources tell ABC News that Trump’s legal advisers have told him that holding such a press conference with dubious claims of voter fraud will only complicate his legal problems and some of his attorneys have advised him to cancel it.”
“Advised?” As sure as I’m writing this begged and pleaded is a more accurate way of putting it! Especially since as ABC notes Trump claims he will present “A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia.” Of course, I think (as I said earlier) their concerns on that score might be overblown. In addition to saying stupid things that get him in trouble in court proceedings, Trump also has a history of talking about and even waiving around or pointing to papers/documents but not actually showing them to anyone. Because there’s no “there” there in them!
Still, they aren’t the only ones with access to Trump and if someone slipped him a report that he’s promising to reveal on Monday you can bet the farm it will be chock full of nonsense. It would be BAD for Trump to get up there and endorse the contents and even worse if one of the idiots with access that tells him what he wants to hear has told him about certain statements in it. (You don’t think Trump would actually READ a report do you? That’s what he has “people” for!) Being Trump he will get caught up in the moment and start ad-libbing. Editorializing.
We can only hope.
Still, it’s possible that between now and then Trump might cool down enough to play the “I’ll be making it available in.. Soon.” “Two weeks” ploy he’s so often used before. Just not at a live press conference.

Former guy’s presser might not happen. I’m shocked. I would have been more shocked if there was any information supporting pretty much anything the putz says or has said ever. THAT would be a shock.
Soon, or two weeks, just like infrastructure week! I agree, that he can only damage himself and his legal position. That alone, would make it fun to watch.
