It must be great to dismiss every negative thought you don’t like as fake news and hyperbole. The rest of us don’t have that advantage, and actually, Donald Trump may not either. He believes that he’ll easily swing the GOP nomination and he could be right. But, being nominated and being elected, in the middle of the conga line of legal problems he’s facing are two very different things. Politico:
A majority of Americans believes an indictment stemming from one of the pending criminal probes of Donald Trump should bar him from making another White House bid, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.
When asked whether criminal charges should disqualify Trump from running again, 57 percent of registered voters surveyed within the last week said yes. Thirty-eight percent said no, and five percent were unsure.
The breakdown was roughly the same for independents. Nearly 90 percent of Democrats said criminal charges should keep Trump from campaigning, compared to only 23 percent of Republicans.
That last statistic is something. Only one quarter of Republicans believe that criminal charges should be a bar to holding office? What has happened to common sense and morality in this country?
And of course Trump weighed in.

It’s all a conspiracy, you see. Trump is the yuge winner of everything, all the time. He won the 2020 election and he’s already won the 2024 election. He went forward in a time machine and visited his future self in the White House, so he knows. But the fake news doesn’t want you to know that Trump is a time traveler not to mention big winner of all. They’re jealous because they’re losers.
And, as always, the true horror is that the GOP wants to keep this guy at the head of the party and put him back on the ticket for 2024. Trump’s psychosis is not nearly as scary as this deranged groupthink on the part of the party as a whole. That’s what should be keeping us awake at night.
Trump will eventually be gone from the political scene, one way or the other. But the rotten log that is the GOP is there and it will be there. This is the worrisome part, not Cantaloupe Caligula, but rather the horse he rode in on. That’s our problem.

It’s not a conspiracy. It’s called holding criminals accountable. You break the law, you should be punished. Trump needs to have a 2X4 upside the head.
As I have said before, Traitor Tot needs to be put in front of a firing squad after his trial and conviction for treason!
That flag in the title pic brings forth the really nasty, ugly side of me. Because in my at the moment black heart wish asshats who feel that way would actually carry through when Trump LOSES. And, let’s face it it’s not like it wouldn’t be easy for them as they all surely have their pick from among their collections of GUNS with which to prove their loyalty to the guy who has NO loyalty to them!
All it would take is a law passed in key EC states that a convicted felon cannot appear on the ballot for that state.
Just starve enough votes and it doesn’t mater how many other states they win.
The problem there would be that the Trmpites would appeal it all the way to the Supreme Court (and no prizes for guessing what way Ginni will tell them how to vote on it)
I don’t understand how your suggestion would alter the outcome of the race. The only states that would pass such a law are Democratic states. If Trump were on the ballot in those states, he would receive fewer votes than the Democratic candidate, so Trump would receive zero electoral votes in those states. That is the same number of votes that he would receive if he were on the ballot. Yes, he would receive a lot fewer popular votes, but the election is decided by the electoral vote not the popular vote.
Are you suggesting that some Republican states would also pass such a law, knowing it would keep their candidate off the ballot? I find that hard to believe.
Am I missing something about your suggestion? Please advise. Thank you.
