Tyler Boebert has had to learn a few hard lessons lately and let’s hope the experience sticks so that he doesn’t have to go through the legal merry-go-round anymore. Because considering who his parents are, I think it’s a safe bet that he didn’t get the proper guidance that a child needs when they are growing up.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming Lauren Boebert or her ex-husband Jayson Boebert for what their son did. Tyler, the family’s oldest son, has been charged with I.D. theft, swiping credit cards, and going on shopping sprees. I imagine few people are clever enough not to get caught and I think that goes for 19-year-old Tyler as well.

Right now, he says he’s still in between lawyers, Raw Story reports.

“i have now sent…um, i can’t remember what…like the document to sign up for a public defender,” he told 9th judicial district judge john neiley in court, according to Westword. “i haven’t gotten a message back, but it was very recently. it was only a couple days ago.”

Tyler also said he interviewed one private attorney to take the case, but he hasn’t made any firm decision yet.

What this young man allegedly did was stupid, but he has his little son, Josiah to care for, and while it’s been reported that he has enough funds to hire a private attorney, even so, he is still struggling and it would be nice if his parents put a foot in the door anyway. According to a story published by The Hill, Rep. Boebert (R-Colo.), Jayson hauled in $478,000 from Terra Energy for “consulting services.” In 2019, he earned $460,000 from the same firm.

It’s difficult to gauge just how much Lauren Boebert has in the bank. Rumors were flying that she was worth an estimated $12 million, but fact-checks conducted by USAToday and Reuters found this to be far from the truth. As a member of Congress, she earns a healthy $174,000 per year, so she’s comfortable at the very least.

Of course, as pointed out by The Independent, Jayson, Lauren, and Tyler Boebert have all had their brushes with the law. Jayson wound up being charged with indecent exposure at one point, while Lauren wound up being charged with diso rderly conduct after getting into a yelling match with two deputies, and later on she was pulled over for speeding and arrested for non-payment of a traffic ticket.

So obviously the Boeberts are not exactly a model family. This has now rubbed off on Tyler, which is sad. It seems, however, that he’s shaping up and getting things in order.

“i’ve gotten a lot closer,” he told the judge. “i’m working things out with a lawyer to get that figured out. so it seems like i do have options. but i’m still waiting to get the 100 percent.”

But the fact that Tyler has taken so much time with this, it’s left Judge Neiley feeling frustrated.

“I wish you had turned in that application a little sooner,” he told Boebert in court, per Westword. “if you’ve done that, you just have to wait for the public defender to make their decision. we can continue it to the june 13 docket.”

It seems like Tyler and his three underage buddies were having quite the time of it, as surveillance cameras show. The teens paraded around Rifle, Colorado, breaking into cars, snatching any credit cards they could find, and then using the cards to go on a shopping spree. Sounds like they were having quite the blast until they were caught.

In April, Boebert, who faces felony charges for criminal possession identity documents, complained about his money problems to the judge.

“we are working to hire an attorney, but it’s just been kind of hard with the prices,” the young man said. “worst case scenario, if we can’t get something figured out with the lawyer then we’re going to apply for a public defender or whatever works best for me.”

I do not know why Mom and Dad, who obviously have the funds to help their son hire an attorney aren’t stepping up, but it sounds like Tyler will be dealing with a situation that will put him in league with thousands of poor people who have to face this situation daily.

Will he learn from this or continue the family tradition of getting in trouble for no good reason? I hope indeed that he does learn.

  1. Mommy dearest isn’t going to help as she is facing unemployment in the near future and daddy is concerned as to how much he’s going to have top provide ‘support’ to mommy once she gets the GOB (Grand Order of the Boot) and no longer has any income

  2. He’s probably on welfare and collecting whatever the state and federal governments give to “poor” single parents. He doesn’t want to take money from his parents and spoil the free ride he has from the state/feds. His mother and grandmother were welfare queens, were they not?? Third (at least) generation now, I’ll bet.

  3. Hate to.sayvitr, but a stint in jail might do him.some good. He can either get his GED if he didn’t graduate from high school or get a start on college. Maybe he’ll be scared enough to realize he doesn’t want to spend any more time in prison once he is paroled and turn his life around. And maybe he’ll get some sex which explains how not to.knock up.another underage girl. Or maybe Bratty Matty Gaetz can teach him.
