Anyone who’s seen the delightful movie Jurassic Park remembers that moment when some of the characters see that huge pile of dino “spoor” and the iconic deadpan line “That’s one big pile of s**t.” Trump’s legal problems are even bigger, and there are multiple piles of them. Not just the four criminal indictments and trials he’s now facing, but civil cases too. As Michelle’s Trump Trial Tracker shows he’s got a civil case in New York State starting in October and it could make his already huge cash flow problems a whole lot worse. Still, Trump is a human version of a slime eel and has managed to use that sea creature’s disgusting method to escape an awful lot of time in his life. He’s plenty worried to be sure but at least that’s familiar territory for him.
However, Trump now faces four, count em FOUR criminal indictments and all of them come with some actual meaningful prison time. If that’s not bad enough, while sentencing guidelines tend to give a break to people upon a first conviction, with each succeeding conviction any former convictions, including and especially felony convictions get taken into consideration! Judge “Loose” Cannon has set things up for her trial of Trump to go last and no doubt she’ll go way the hell UNDER the recommended federal sentencing guidelines but by then it won’t matter. And who knows? By then after what could wind up being yet another electoral shellacking (perhaps by far the worst yet) for the GOP there might be an appetite for GOP Senators to vote to convict her of impeachment charges if brought, and let her make some real history.
However, as I’ve said the sh*t has been piling up and Trump keeping adding to the whole mess with messy verbal and Truth Social (and now twitter again) “sharts” which paint an ugly enough picture right there. But his and his supporter’s antics have inspired serious threats including death threats and actual plots. Is there anyone who doesn’t believe an actual attempt on the life of a judge or prosecutor is inevitable? It’s true Trump hasn’t, despite his calls for them generated mass protests around his arrests and bookings/arraignments. That’s no comfort, at least for me. It’s the so-called “Lone Wolf” types out there that the FBI and other LE worry about.
And they ARE out there.
Come tomorrow things including the threat level against those who are holding Trump to account are going to go off the charts. Imagine that huge pile of dino doo-doo in the title pic only the size of Trump Tower suddenly exploding! Mark my words, by this time tomorrow night that’s what will be happening and the shiite will be flying nationwide. Why tomorrow?
Chances are if you’re reading this you know there’s a court hearing in DC for Monday, Aug. 28. Among the items on the agenda will be setting a trial date for Trump’s DC trial on January 6 related charges. Both sides have submitted their legal briefs on when they’d like the trial to start. Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking to have jury selection in December of this year and for opening arguments in the first week of the new year. Trump of course wants a date much further off. He could have had his lawyers propose something that was after the 2024 election (we all know why), maybe spring of 2025. But noooooooo. He’s asked for spring of 2026! So much for trying to try and appear “reasonable” to an experienced, no-nonsense judge. I might add judge Tanya Chutkan had already warned Trump that him engaging in the kind of bullsh*t he’s known for will get his trial moved UP instead of delayed some.
Many legal experts have said it was unlikely Smith would prevail with getting a December start to things, although if Trump pushed his luck too hard it wasn’t a crazy prospect. From what I can tell, since Alvin Bragg up in NYC already made it clear he’s willing to wait that since March was available that was the likely time frame. However, as I said Trump has made a number of statements that break DC’s rules about what criminal defendants can and cannot say, and Trump did it again earlier this weekend! Add that in with his attempt to push the trial all the way into 2026 and I think the odds are better than even that Judge Chutkan will, if not start jury selection in December do so right after the first of the year.
And that massive explosion from inside the Trump Tower sized pile of excrement I referred to will happen. His supporters in the media and on Capitol Hill (mostly the House) will go bat-sh*t insane, again at a far greater level of crazy than we’ve seen to date. And out there in the country, those lunatic loners or small groups will be plotting and polishing up their guns. Or breaking out other “goodies” they’d made or stolen & stored away.
Violence, political violence or at least attempts to carry it out will test local, state and federal LE in a way they’ve not seen.
Keep an eye on the news tomorrow. And especially tomorrow evening as even if judge Chutkan goes with March 2025 (WAY earlier than Trump wants) instead of Dec/Jan like I said, you’re going to see UGLY worse than your worst nightmares.
454 or is it 455 mass shootings so far this year, defined by 3 or more killed or injured, it’s no great leap considering there are 400 MILLION guns on the street. I was hoping to die in my sleep but that plan seems farfetched, given how dangerous our streets, malls, churches, temples, schools, concerts, birthday parties, clubs, bars, movies, grocery stores, workplaces, oh Hell everywhere has become. Right now Chapel Hill is on lockdown due to an active shooter on campus! There are evil ripples that occur. My little ‘adopted’ seven year old was so excited to go to the second grade, she woke up at 430am according to her mom. Although her school isn’t near the campus, they are on lockdown until the shooter is found. No children in the school system can leave and no parent can pick them up. A wonderful way to end YOUR FIRST GODDAMN DAY!!! Meanwhile the nazi gop is checking their donations from the NRA and their stock. Happy America?
