Don’t shoot the messenger Old saying
What a difference 105 days make. 105 days ago Traitor Tot was on cruise control to win a delayed second term. Donations were rolling in, deep pocket Democrats were stiffing Biden for being unelectable, His Lowness was able to keep the same tee time every day, all he had to do was to throw up a few ads, wait for the net terrible inflation and border crossing numbers, and hold a couple of rallies to blame Sleepy Joe. Life was good.
Here’s how good the living was. 105 days ago Trump held a 21 point edge on Biden on the issue of immigration, and an 18 point lead on the issue of the economy/inflation. The monthly administration numbers were Trump’s attack ads, and even moderate voters preferred Traitor Tot’s economic plans, forgetting that just like everything else in his life, Trump inherited the great economy from Obama. Il Douche didn’t have to campaign, just point at Biden and keep repeating the word change.
Then, in a matter of a few days, Traitor Tot’s world turned upside down. Biden did the unthinkable, voluntarily walked away from power, and Vice President Harris became the presumptive nominee. And in that matter of days, Trump was in even worse shape than the Democrats. Because in the blink of an eye, Trump had lost his whole campaign premise. Biden’s flaws were Trump’s greatest strength, and now Biden was out. And instead, it was El Pendejo ex Presidente who was the oldest presidential candidate in US history, running against a woman almost 20 years his junior.
Trump’s campaign staff had tried to warn him, and at least come up with contingency plans and oppo research for a run against Harris, but The Peach Penguin quashed them, certain in his own mind that because he was a craven power slut then Biden would never give it up either.
So, being a political simpleton caught with his pants down, Traitor Tot took the simpleton’s way out. Cast the sins of the father on the daughter. In Trump’s imbecilic mind Biden and Harris were Siamese twins joined at the hip, completely ignoring his own relationship with Pence. If it was Biden’s fault, then it was Harris’s fault too, in spades.
And that became his new campaign against Harris. As Biden’s wingman Harris was equally at fault for record inflation and high grocery and gas prices. Because Biden had tasked Harris with working with Mexico and central American countries to increase productivity and foreign investments to curtail the refugee flow, Trump dubbed her as Biden’s Border Czar, and the open borders were all her fault.
Being a political imbecile, baron von Schitzenpantz missed one simple thing almost everybody else in the country already knows. The strange dichotomy between President and Vice President. The Vice President is the closest person in government to the President, but has no authority except the authority the President gives them. Nobody was fooled by Traitor Tot scratching out Biden’s name with a sharpie and writing Harris’s name underneath.
Worse yet, while The Cheeto Prophet was talking trash about Harris, Harris was talking sense. She actually admitted the continuing flaws in the economy, stubborn inflation and high grocery prices, but immediately offered concrete plans to fix them, plans that actually added up on a calculator. And the unkindest cut of all, she turned the immigration petard around and hoist Traitor Tot on it for killing the bipartisan Immigration Bill that would already be providing relief and securing the border.
And it worked. The latest polls show that Harris has taken Trump’s vaunted 21 point edge on immigration and trimmed it down to 5 points. Worse for The Mango Messiah, while many polls show Harris within 2 points on the economy, there are several out there that actually show her leading Traitor Tot on his signature issue. Biden’s departure and Harris’s ascendence literally cost Traitor tot his only two talking points.
And it shows. Lordy does it show. I know it’s hard to see somebody not doing something, so I’ll point it out for you. When Biden was still running, Traitor Tot and his surrogates hammered two themes relentlessly, immigration and the economy. Immigration and the economy. But in the last 75 days, since Harris has gotten her sea legs, and started talking circles around His Lowness on immigration and economy, Trump and his howler monkeys have. stopped. talking. about. those two subjects. They just don’t even want to go there, baby girl.
And here’s the McGuffin. Harris taking these two cannons off of the battlefield for The Trumpster Fire has directly led to his recent campaign downfall. Having nothing left to talk about, this has led directly to Traitor Tot’s lame bullsh*t on the trail. Things like his racist, sexist personal attacks on Harris. Haitian refugees eating neighbor’s pets, Latin gangs taking over Colorado Springs, piss miserable childless cat ladies, Puerto Rico being a floating island of garbage, Mexicans breeding like bunnies, and protecting women whether they like it or not.
When Biden was running, Traitor Tot was surprisingly focused for once. His handlers had him ceaselessly hammering immigration and the economy. Without those two political popup books for him to read, he had no choice but to defer back to his core principle beliefs, the things that motivate his base instead of moderate and undecided voters, and he did it at the perfect time. Just when most states were opening up their early voting.
If Trump loses this election, and I find it 90-10 he will, we can thank President Biden for selflessly stepping back, and Vice President Harris for confronting Traitor Tot’s two best talking points head on and neutralizing them. Once she did that, he had no choice but to let his fascist freak flag fly, and it’s cost him every last chance to scoop up any last minute independent or undecided voters. As ye sow, so shall ye reap. 5 days. Keep punching and keep the faith.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Thank you, that is a very cogent explanation.
Magats lost their main talking points and can’t think of any new ones.
Because there aren’t any.
There is no reason to vote for him at all.
Thinking was never their strength…lying is.
“Magats lost their main talking points and can’t think of any new ones.
Because there aren’t any.”
Um, you can’t have something that never existed in the first place. Those “talking points” were issues that Trump is responsible for himself. All the high prices and “rampant inflation?” All because Trump couldn’t handle COVID responsibly. We got in a global pandemic which necessitated MAJOR changes in the economy (not just the US, but worldwide) and, following the “end” of the pandemic, you can’t just suddenly restore the economy to where it had been. And food production was the most troubling aspect. When no one was able to shop for things like meat and dairy and eggs, the farmers supplying those things cut back (cattle that couldn’t be fed–because the farmers couldn’t afford it–just got slaughtered and “wasted”; the same with chickens and pigs–with no guarantee that their products could get to market, especially with the processing plants becoming hotbeds for spreading COVID, the farmers couldn’t afford to keep them) and these things couldn’t just be brought back to full and immediate production. It takes a certain amount of time for these animals to be truly useful in food production. And because these things were relatively scarce during the pandemic (and prices shot up accordingly–“economics genius” Trump apparently was asleep during his economics class when they covered “supply and demand”), stores that were open for business (following necessary, sensible precautions) had to raise their prices. Once the pandemic was done, the businesses realized they liked the money they were making and saw little reason to lower them once production went back to more-or-less normal levels.
As for immigration, Harris (and numerous Democrats in Congress) pointed it out: TRUMP was responsible for killing a bipartisan bill that would’ve done wonders on the issue. The media, of course, would never think to hold Trump accountable for HIS interference (done solely so he’d actually have an “issue” to run on). Any time a Democrat–or *sensible* GOPer–would get on camera and hold Trump responsible, the media gave Trump enablers 10 times as much coverage to push their bullcrap. But the reality is that Trump has NO actual plan for immigration that would work. He keeps feeding his supporters all that deportation nonsense but will any of those supporters enjoy the massive increase in the cost of buying food? Immigrants make up a large portion of the food-production workforce with undocumented immigrants making up a VERY large portion of the people who actually pick the crops. Talk to all those GOP governors who decided to make immigrants such an issue over the past decade, only to see so many of them flee those states and the farmers (who’d largely been supporting those GOPers in the first place) suddenly having trouble getting people to work the fields, especially at the miserable wages the immigrants were willing to work for. (And, of course, Trump never explained why so many of the people working at his various properties seemed to be of the “immigrant” classes–amazing how none of Trump’s properties were ever raided by INS to confirm their legal status.)
Joseph, the second paragraph of your comment is dead-on accurate in explaining the current inflationary period’s causes. Trouble is, trying to explain this to a MAGAt is like hitting your head with a hammer – it feels SOOOO good when you stop. And counteracting the corporate greed that has kept grocery and fuel prices as high as they are would require REGULATING big agra – a big no-no to the right.
Related personal experience – in 1971. I was on a union-represented job covered by à contract that complied with the 3.2% annual wage increase guidelines requested by LBJ before Nixon was elected. By that time the inflation resulting from our involvement in Viet Nam was killing us, and other unions were ignoring the 3.2% figure and winning contracts more in keeping with conditions. A strike was authorized, and our walkout began on July 14 (Bastille Day). The very next day, Nixon declared his wage-and-price freeze, which the company hid behind, refusing to make a serious offer (we finally got back to work the next February, seven months later). While the freeze did a good job controlling wages, the review board put in place had no problem allowing prices to increase as one business after another successfully appealed for exemptions. In this case, corporate regulation was totally ineffective.
His timing couldn’t be better. He’s revealing his true colors in time to inform the voters like the Puerto Ricans. Just in case they didn’t realize his true identity.
if Biden was younger none of Trump’s talking points might not have worked anyway. will be great to have a real female Democrat in the oval office for the first time ever!
