As you read this, bear in mind one major aspect of immunity in exchange for testimony: only one defendant can do it. There’s only one sweet deal to be had, first comer takes all. Regarding the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg’s woes, it’s been expected that Weisselberg would flip. He was indicted less than a week ago, so that still may take place. But another, unexpected alternative is possible. Ivanka Trump could flip before Weisselberg because out of all the people at the Trump Organization, the two of them are uniquely situated. They’re both paid as officers and consultants, which is a great way of avoiding paying income tax. Daily Beast:
The Trump Organization is now feeling the heat, with its CFO under indictment for grand larceny. Prosecutors are clearing to get that money man, Allen Weisselberg, to flip on his boss. But one interested observer says there may be another member of the Trump crew who’s even more likely to turn on the Don: his daughter Ivanka.
Both Ivanka and Weisselberg benefited from a similar perk, if that indictment by Manhattan prosecutors and reporting from TheNew York Times are to be believed. Both were officers of the Trump Organization and simultaneously were consultants for the company, too. It’s an arrangement that appears designed to shield all parties involved from paying taxes—and could open Ivanka up to tax fraud charges, just like her dad’s CFO.
“She’s much less likely to stay loyal than Allen Weisselberg,” says Mary Trump, the member of the family who has famously turned on the clan.
“Wait, wait, whoa. You think Ivanka is less likely to stay loyal than Allen Weisselberg? Even though her dad gave her a job in the White House?” an incredulous Molly Jong-Fast asks Mary Trump on the latest episode of The New Abnormal.
“But Allen had a pretty cushy gig where he was. And I think kind of in the grand scheme of things, as counterintuitive as this might sound, I think Ivanka has, one, more to lose and, two, more to hang onto. Her husband’s family is legitimately very wealthy,” Mary Trump answers.
This is not implausible. Jared and Ivanka have already made it clear that they want to distance themselves from Trump, so that they can go back to New York society and be accepted there. Additionally, Jared’s new book reportedly contains a revisionist version of the Trump years, with Jared playing the good cop and trying to convince his bad cop father-in-law to do things right. That should be a good read on a lot of levels, comedy first and foremost.
Don’t rule it out. Not saying that it will happen, but these are the Trumps we’re dealing with and there’s no honor among thieves. Forget the blood is thicker than water cliche, not with this family. Even Roy Cohn said, “Donald is so cold he pisses ice water.” Coming from a suit wearing serpent like Cohn, if ever there was one, that’s quite a statement.
Plus she knows daddy from all the years of shitting on any & everyone. Sure she knows how loyal he is…not.
Mary Trump may have some inside information she’s not sharing that might change my thoughts. But for now don’t think Ivanka will flip for one reason: That would cause her to be permanently a persona non grata to the rest of the Trump Crime Family whom she is inextricably linked with. And she would be likely forced to testify against her family members. Her influence and riches have been derived in large part all along through her familial connections. And how would that play out with her husband Jared Kushner and their 2 sons and daughter? She’s just not strong enough to go against the rest of her family. She will ultimately serve time in prison with the rest of her crooked family.
Years ago I speculated that Jared would be most likely to flip (rich or not his own family fortune was in danger due to that 666 building) but it would have to be a package deal – Ivanka would have to go along. Of course, she had had her own issues that got attention after she and Jared moved to DC to play big shot “look at me running the country” co-starring roles. Unlike Donald, they even had excellent legal representation and I’m sure a shitload of billable hours got racked up in the summer the Mueller investigation was first underway.
Well, Jarvanka took a legal hit when Jamie Gorelick dumped them as clients but Abbe Lowell seemed to be a good enough replacement. Back then he was like Gorelick one of the very top legal folks top power players in DC might turn to, with a reputation that was enough to make others including DOJ lawyers back down. Funny how within a year Lowell’s once vaunted reputation seemed to fade but that’s another story.
Jared does in fact have his own legal exposure with some serious questions about selling access to foreign governments and startling changes in policy and then out of the blue getting a huge financial break with a sweetheart deal rescuing him and his family’s business from his disastrous purchase of that infamous building.
What I’m driving at is that Mary Trump may well be right, but if the flip and sweetheart immunity deal happens it won’t be Ivanka but “Jarvanka” that goes for it. I keep saying that unlike the actual Trumps he’s been inside of a federal pen if only as a visitor and I’m quite sure he wants no part of the view from his daddy’s side of the glass in the visitor’s room booths! Jarvanka has a lot of life left ahead. They might be delusional about their chances of getting to play in polite, elite society again but I’m convinced they started setting things up just in case years ago due to Mueller’s investigation. Maybe they think that by selling out Donald they can spin things in a “the scales fell from our eyes and we had to help take him down for the good of the country” or some such nonsense.
I hate, and I mean HATE the idea of them skating (legally) but it’s possible. They sure as hell are keeping their distance from Trump world (has anyone checked on Tiffany lately – she’s late to the game of working for daddy but he has reason to suspect her of having been a govt. plant to gather documents/info.) so it’s possible large portions of their days are being spent with lawyers working out proffers for plea deals. But I say it would be a package deal – Ivanka AND Jared walking through prosecutor’s doors together.

The Donald has lathered all over Ivanka since her 12th or earlier birthday, hands on her all the time in every photo of them together, some little comments here and there, tell me she may have NOT welcomed all that, “special attention”, maybe some of it has been quite regular and in Donald’s later years, and physical condition, she may have reached her limit and has only played OK with DJT enough to lock in her portion of any cash left in the family after prison terms that she definitely would want to avoid …
So, I think the Jarvanka team will stay together for the cushion of that, “REAL money”, you mentioned on the Jar side … and I don’t think Ivanka and Jared would ever arm wrestle over any revelations she might make against DJT … going forward …
The most entertaining book Ivanka could write for, would be a detailed diary of all the times Don played REAL swell games with her …
Her job of eye candy for old Dad at the WH was a bizarre, useless appendage of Trump fantasy … the failed security team of Jarvanka, given top security access by dumb Don was another fly in the soup …
Ultimately, the Trump boat is going down, the life preservers on hand are few, only those that earn one will survive … the incoming wave of court actions, will keep us in popcorn for years to come …
