Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not only a first class statesman, he never misses a chance to give as good as he gets. He made that clear in the Oval Office today where to say that the atmosphere was 180 degrees removed from the last time he was there, would understate the case. Zelenskyy was reviled last time, not only by both Donald Trump and J.D. Vance but by Brian Glenn, who criticized him for not wearing a suit. Zelenskyy got back at Glenn today. Glenn praised Zelenskyy’s choice of attire and Zelenskyy shot back, “You’re in the same suit, I’ve changed mine.” Which is a polite way of telling Glenn that he stinks. And it gets better still.
Zelensky is a genius. He started his 1v1 meeting with Trump by thanking Melania Trump for sending Putin a letter asking for Ukraine's children to be returned. Zelensky then gave trump a letter for his wife from the First Lady of Ukraine.

So what’s in the letter? Maybe we’ll find out, maybe we won’t. I believe it’s safe to say that Olena Zelenskyy wrote the letter she sent to Melania, whereas the chances of Melania writing the missive that got delivered to Putin are nil. It’s not Melania’s *voice* insofar as Melania still speaks pidgin English even after some three decades in this country. Melania’s missive was ghost written for her, like her book, like her speeches (oh yeah, those are not only ghost written they’re plagiarized) like her husband’s books. That’s the Trump way.
The best speculation at this point is that the letter from Olena to Melania is a thank you letter, thanking Melania for ostensibly penning the letter to Vladimir Putin. But the tone of it, what it actually says, has not been released at this point. We will be keeping a sharp eye out, believe me.
Maybe Letters From Melania can become a new thing and Melania’s ghostwriter can pen missives to everybody. I sense a wonderful parody coming on. Andy Borowitz, where are you today?
