We were told that the Wednesday night performance of Les Miserables was sold out. And it may well have been, since Trump intended that night to be a fundraiser for the failing Kennedy Center. But sold out and packed house are two totally different things. It’s possible that people bought tickets because Trump expected them to, but had no intention of showing up. In any event, take a look at all of the empty seats. Now, in all fairness, it’s an axiom in the theater that the house doubles in the last ten minutes before curtain time. Maybe that explains this sparse seating.
At the Kennedy Center, half the theater just started clapping when a group of drag queens showed up to find their seats at opening night of Les Miserables, which Trump, Melania, Vance and their top allies have all come out to see. pic.twitter.com/1WJHsGL987

You see how when the camera pans the house at all angles that there are so many empty seats. Another reason for that may be because of the boycott of certain performers of the performance last night. When you pay top dollar for a theater ticket, you want to see the star people in the roles, not a bunch of understudies. Snobbish but true. In any event, the half empty house wasn’t the only difference between the Biden administration and our current populist shitshow. Look at how the Bidens were received. Then look at how the Trumps were received.
📺 WATCH: In December, President Biden and Dr. Biden got cheers and a standing ovation at the Kennedy Center.
Tonight? Trump and Melania were booed loudly — even after stuffing the place with MAGA cultists.
Face it: Trump isn’t respected. He’s loathed.

There were cheers and boos. And chants of USA. Live with it. The Trumps are not universally loved outside of the MAGA cult. They are loathed and despised.

Very probably what has upset this MAGA is the fact that she saw some doctored version on right-wing media where only the cheers were present. That was not the case. Cheers and jeers filled the auditorium and then chants of USA USA broke out.
We now have a culture war in this country which is both literal and figurative. This is the literal cultural war, where Trump shows up at a cultural event at the venerated Kennedy Center, in his august position of Chair of the Board and the only reason rotten tomatoes weren’t thrown at him is because he is the president.
But he would well deserve a tomato reception for wreaking havoc with the Board as he has done.

30 to 35 % of the populace seem to support MAGA.
So 65 to 70% don’t.
We will prevail.
That was my theory as well. And I don’t want to be a downer and think otherwise. There’s something rotten in America that somebody like this man could get where he’s gotten to. And get away with what he’s gotten away with. I am just praying that the real Americans, the ones who believe in the rule of law and democray above a cult leader maniac, will prevail. And I worry about what’s going to happen with Iran now in the game. Just because it’s quiet for the moment doesn’t mean things won’t explode.
