I remember when I first moved to Los Angeles in the late seventies a friend said to me, “Don’t talk to people about sex, politics or religion, or you’ll get into a fight.” Politics and religion have always been volatile topics and my friend was gay, so maybe that’s where he was coming from including sex on a taboo list. Then an actor friend told me, “Are you kidding? Sex is all that people can talk about here. You’ll be lucky to find somebody who knows anything about politics or religion.”
In right-Wingnuttia, however, politics and religion are sharing the spotlight and you never see one without the other. Religion is politics in this wingnut church. At least, politics is being preached as religion. If anybody can find God or Jesus in this dirge, please help the rest of us. This is extreme behavior, even for this guy.

You see the melange of the Big Lie, Biden’s purported illegitimacy, and coronavirus disinformation all mixed together. That is QAnon. And what truly makes this amazing is that this guy is setting himself up for a fall — or maybe just laying the foundation for even wilder conspiracy theories, who knows — because the Big Lie is unraveling by the day and by the end of summer it should completely be ashes. What then?
In a normal political cycle when the fall comes, one year before the midterms, the political machine starts revving up for the occasion. What’s it going to do this year, when said machine is stuck on relitigating 2020? How do you move forward when you’re mired in the past? Don’t think that a lot of Republicans aren’t worrying about this very thing right now, they just don’t know what to do about it.
And the Big Lie may keep Republicans away from the polls in 2022. We saw that in Georgia.
Plus, if there is a surge in coronavirus, which is taking place in the southern states as we speak, that literally will result in the death of many people and that level of disillusionment, when COVID strikes home and ravishes people you know, is not likely to endear either Greg Locke or the Republicans to the bereaved.
I can’t see where what Locke is doing makes any sense. It’s beyond Idiocracy. It’s Idiocracy as a snuff movie.
I love the way these “false prophets” ignore John 8:42-47. Jesus is rebuking the Jews for their self importance & religious hypocrisy. He calls them “children of the devil”. He also describes their “father” as ” a murderer & a liar from the beginning”. He also calls the devil the “father of all lies”, & that when he speaks lies, it’s his natural language. Now they throw in with the big lie, & everything that goes with it, mass murder, cruelty, hate, ignorance, greed, & every possibility the end of the human species. Of course, if u can’t look at two pictures, side by side, one teeming with millions, one teeming with empty space, & admit which one has more people, u are essentially a turnip.
It bears repeating that Paul was talking about people like that pastor when he wrote,”You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? As it is written: “ God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.” Of course he was addressing Jewish Christians so the comment is framed in Jewish terms. To give the same comment a Christian frame. “You who boast about being Christians, do you dishonor God by behaving in unchristlike ways. As it is written [in the Old Testament, the Scripture of Paul’s day]: “ God’s name is blasphemed among nonnchristians because of you.” Your Christianity has value if you walk the talk, but if you do not, your Christianity has become null and void.” The “Biblically Stupid” one is clearly that pastor who has actually been wrong about everything.
I would like to see these political events these people are calling “church services” be taxed as the businesses they are.
Yep, that is not what a sermon is supposed to sound like.
They may even believe that Big Lie, but it’s still a lie. The former guy isn’t going to live forever, and he either gives up the big lie or he won’t be able to run in 2024, because the very first sentence in the 22nd Amendment says that you can only win twice.
More to the point, they’re not going to live forever either. When I was growing up among this crowd, the message I got from them was expect a Rapture or nukes any day now. Instead, time passed, they got old and now they’re about to exit a world that was nothing like they wanted. Every bit of this gets projected onto Trump, which is why they hold on.
I thought I just had to kill babies. Now I have to smoke crack and worship Satin, too? It gets harder and harder to be a Democrat.

Anyone wanting to understand why I’m so down on Christianity in general (with way too few exceptions) need look no further than that sermon. That’s just a more honest version of what passes for theology in this state and the message to me is crystal meth clear: you don’t belong and you never will. So I give the contempt right back, just like my mother’s father did to the Klan back in the day.
THAT is NOT Christianity. Period.
These religious fanatics love to ignore what their babble says in Revelation 21:8 ” … ALL liars will have their place in the lake of fire.” That’s “all” liars, not, “all liars, with the exception of preachers …” However, they seem to think that lying for Jesus will gain them extra points. It’s no wonder the Delta variant is spreading so quickly, especially when it’s easier to catch than a cold, and with these religious idiots spreading so many lies, things are likely to get worse.
They are fools who are mocking God and has no fear of him. If they were so smart they would know that the fear of God is wisdom. So they are just dumb as rocks and don’t know that the arms are to short to box with God. They are on their way to hell and don’t even know it.
