I don’t know why reporters even bother but I guess we all need to go through the motions of normal living, even though where we are now is far far away from normal and getting worse daily. A reporter asked Trump today about the “TPS for Ukrainians.” The man was referring to temporary protective status for Ukrainians, which is an issue that Trump himself brought up when he threatened to deport a quarter of a million people back to a war zone. That does get the attention of the world rather quickly. So the reporter was correct in asking Trump to clarify the record but he forgot two things: 1. Trump doesn’t know what acronyms means. He last displayed this when he didn’t know what AUKUS was and 2. Trump forgets what he says from one day to the next. So a simple, logical and newsworthy question was a set up for disaster.
Well I guess we can see now why he wants every single person in his cabinet to be whiter than Casper because he is too dumb to understand anyone with even a slight accent.

It’s not just an accent that’s at issue, Trump does not know these generic government terms. It is appalling for him to be as ignorant as he is, but this is what Republicans defend right and left because they are such abject spineless cowards. Here he just repeats himself until he can field the question to somebody who might know something, please gawd. Because Donald doesn’t know anything.
Waltz: Well, the president has been crystal clear, and he's been clear to all sides the fighting has to stop. Both sides need to get to the table.
We had a good engagement. Both leaders have said only President Trump could do so. 2/ pic.twitter.com/xJkYf3qbwL

President Trump said Thursday he’s looking at whether to revoke temporary protections for thousands of Ukrainians in the United States who fled that country’s war with Russia, but that no final decision has been made.
“We’re not looking to hurt anybody, and we’re certainly not looking to hurt them,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “And I’m looking at that, and there were some people that think that’s appropriate, and some people don’t, and I’ll be making a decision pretty soon.”
Trump added that Ukrainians had “gone through a lot.”
Reuters reported earlier Thursday that the Trump administration planned to revoke protections for roughly 240,000 Ukrainians who had fled to the United States following Russia’s 2022 invasion. The move would lay the groundwork for those individuals to be deported.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed back on the report at the time, saying no decision had been made.
The Biden administration first announced it would allow Ukrainians into the country though Uniting for Ukraine, paroling migrants into the country for two years so long as they were able to secure a U.S.-based sponsor.
The Biden administration also announced in January before leaving office that it was extending temporary protected status (TPS) for Ukrainians until October 2026, “due to armed conflict and extraordinary and temporary conditions in Ukraine that prevent individuals from safely returning.”
Be that as it may, he was thinking of doing that very thing, returning refugees to a warzone. And it’s not like this would be a first. In January Kristi Noem suspended TPS protections to roughly 600,000 Venezuelans living in the U.S. before taking a similar move for some 520,000 Haitians. And of course those actions triggered all kinds of lawsuits but this is vintage Trump 2.0, lawsuits, cacophony, chaos. And spectacle. Don’t forget the spectacle. That’s the one thing you’re guaranteed from this Greatest Clownshow On Earth.

So Ukraine is harder for Trump to deal with than Russia? Yeah, funny how independent democratic nations don’t like being invaded and having a good chunk of their land being stolen by a hostile country.
