Every generation has its challenges. The people who are of the generation when getting murdered in school is not only a possibility, it is a regular occurrence, are dealing with a reality that most of us cannot even imagine. And nobody can comprehend this phenomenon unless they’ve lived through it.
Ted Cruz is part of the problem, not the solution. He’s a shill for the NRA.
He made a recent appearance at the Texas Tribune festival and a lot of what he had to say did not go over well:

People in the audience weren’t buying what Cruz what selling.
Rafaelito, how did that work out in Uvalde? They had hundreds of cops, and did NOTHING to stop the shooter.
You didn’t hear? They stood in a hallway and outside as the shooter killed kids. The ones that were wounded bleed out. They stood around for 70 minutes.
Maybe someone will tire of his racist nazi ass and give him some of what he advocates for school children. Evil pissant.
Ted Cruz, the second most poor excuse for a human, has forgotten that, unless these cops are wearing full military body armor, shields and helmets, the idea of even a fully loaded Glock against an AR-15 style weapon is Ludacris, even with the full outfits, the bullets coming from one of these guns have SO MUCH energy, the officers would surely suffer horrible wounds …
SO, the obvious next level, is to wear full military garb, including the carry of their own AR-15’s, THEN, of course, the picture is complete, schools with fully armed cops on each approachable side of each school building, what’s next? … Fox holes and trenches in the lawns?
Let’s put Cruz in a school.with a handgun against a psychopath and see how he fares. Takes out the shooter? Good. Shooter takes him.out? Still.good. A win-win either way.
He, like Margie, tucker, stone, Bannon, & the rest are lying cowards. They’ll stand around taking selfies with ar-15s but won’t go anywhere near an actual fight. Fact.
