Slate Magazine editor, MSNBC contributor and best selling author of Lady Justice – Women, The Law, and The Battle to Save America Dahlia Lithwick, has had about enough of the CONservatives on the Supreme Court pronouncing that they are above criticism and suspicion for their clearly political rulings and she was primed to go off about it.
So when she appeared on Nicolle Wallace’s MSNBC afternoon show Deadline White House yesterday to discuss the scam insider investigation into who the leaker of the thrust of the Dobb’s decision might be…
“The Supreme Court has spent months investigating who might have leaked the draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, and the results released Thursday can best be paraphrased as such: “IDK, bro.”
The leaked draft last May caused widespread outrage both in and outside the highest U.S. court. Protesters took to the streets, demanding the justices protect the right to abortion, but Chief Justice John Roberts was more concerned about the sanctity of the court, calling the leak a “betrayal of the confidences of the Court.” He assigned the Marshal of the Court and her team to investigate the source of the leak.
After a months-long interview, the team announced Thursday it is “unable to identify a person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence…
… the marshal’s report doesn’t specify whether any of the justices themselves were questioned, focusing instead on “Court personnel” and “temporary… and permanent employees.”
… and Nicolle set her up by describing what a joke the supposed “investigation” was and how far down the court’s public opinion numbers are, Dahlia was ready with her quick riposte:
“The Court, with a 25% approval rating, wants us to believe that it’s made of magic and unicorns and if we just stop asking hard questions, they can go back to doing whatever they do… They keep saying ‘there’s nothing to see here'”

The more that comes out about the way this "investigational" was conducted, the more laughably clear Roberts, etc, know or don't want to. Then they gaslight *us*. More of the classic abuser mentality. Telling us there's nothing to see when there's everything to see 1/

SCOTUS has lost ALL credibility! Every R justice has been revealed to be a liar to the Senate about numerous issues, most notably – judicial precedence.
For all his insistence that he wants to preserve the integrity of the Court, Roberts has yet to do anything toward that end.

In future MSNBC coverage expect: “The SCOTUS leaker, why can’t he or she be found… and why it is Sam Alito.”

Apparently the court is run by three stooges and their wives.
Nah, the Three Stooges (in all their incarnations) would look at a script retelling the entirety of the Court’s “investigation” and say–in unison–“Nobody’s so stupid they’d believe we did that bad a job. We got our reputation to preserve.”
The investigation did not question the justices and that right there makes this less of an investigation and more of a circus to display to the public, Congress, etc.
The S.C. needs to be reined in quickly. The legislative and executive branches of our government need put forth at least a law dealing with the complete lack of ethics and the complete lack of anything requiring they even have any. We have AT LEAST three who have lied to the senate (thomas, gorsuch, and beer bong) to obtain their seats: these three need to be removed. How can you require anyone saying anything in court that they speak only the truth when at least three on the highest bench in the land lied to get their jobs in the first place? I for one would think twice before I made good and damned sure what I said in a court room is truthful knowing these numbskulls can lie their asses off. I would weigh the benefits of truth-telling and respond accordingly. Why not after all?
This court is out of control, grasping power they do not possess and using it to form a taliban-esque government. Folks ought to be quite alarmed by this. Of course getting folks to pay attention to factual information as opposed to dumb-ass reality shows is not a light lift. Our country has been nearing a tipping point for a few years; one where we the people might become we the serfs with absolutely no self-determination. They will start with women and P.O.C. but if you think it will end there you’re stupider than former guy. Authoritarian regimes have room for very few decision makers.
So typical of the RW. Finding out who leaked is more important than the content of the leak.
I still don’t understand why it was even an issue to find the leaker. Because it put the SC in danger of being killed? What about all the women, nurses, clinicians and doctors who have been and will continue to be killed by rabid anti-abortionists?
