Strap in kiddies, and keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times. Right now, the last(?) two J6 committee hearings are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday of next week. I put that “?” in there simply because the committee has plenty of time, and with new, blockbuster witness like Pat Cipollone still pouring through the doors, I wouldn’t be surprised if Thursday’s hearing is either delayed, or replaced with other new material, and rescheduled for later.

But from where I’m sitting, watching Tuesday’s hearing could well be kind of like living in the Donbas region right now, Howitzer shell after howitzer shell coming down around your head. I say that simply because everything we’ve seen in the past, and what we’ve seen of the Committee’s work so far makes that almost inevitable.

Because of the subject content. According to Committee member Adam Schiff, Tuesday is when they tie together the actual creation, summoning, and execution of the Capitol riot. And tie it to Trump with barbed wire. Committee member Jamie Raskin set the hearing up perfectly when he said in an interview earlier this week said;

Remember, January 6th has no innate special meaning to Trump supporters. It has no special meaning to the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, or the 3%er’s. These are not constitutional scholars. It only assumed significance for them when Trump tweeted to call them together to the Ellipse on January 6th, promising that It will be wild!

Raskin is 100% correct. Hell, I’ve been politically active and aware for about 50 years now, and I never attached any significance to January 6th. I knew that the congress met in joint session to certify the electoral votes, but I never realized that there was one day specifically set aside for that purpose. Mainly because the media never covered the damn thing, since it was always just a rubber stamp operation.

Pray remember, the J6 committee has interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses, the majority of them voluntary, and has enough documents to be able to replenish the rainforest. While many of these witnesses may not have earth shattering revelations to tell, what they do have is things like conversations they overheard in the Oval Office or hallway, that are both damning and corroborative. And the J6 committee won’t feature them unless they have something solid to build the case.

One thing to watch for to be featured prominently on Tuesday. The video from that British documentary filmmaker that was embedded with the Proud Boys on January 6th. His film draws a flawless timeline of how the Proud Boys left the Ellipse for the Capitol over an hour before Trump even started his speech?

And even more importantly, there’s another clip from the filmmaker to watch for to be prominently featured. The clip of the secret meeting that took place between the leadership of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers in an underground DC garage on the night of January 5th.

There is no audio of what was said, but the video itself is damning. After all, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers have nothing in common. The Proud boys are far right street thugs that live for mob violence. The Oath Keepers want to overturn the US government. Somebody had to bring them together to coordinate for the next day. Who?

And here are three names to watch for to be prominently mentioned on Tuesday. Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon, and Roger Stone. Look for Giuliani and Bannon because they basically manned the war room at the Willard Hotel in the days leading up to January 6th. According to witnesses, the place looked like a Cleveland motel room after a grunge band finished a concert. Roger Stone because he publicly bragged, what else?, to have coordinated with the two extremist groups. In touring protest rallies on January 5th and 6th, Stone had a security guard of Oath Keepers. Bannon might come out of this thinking that his contempt of congress charge is the least of his worries.

Those are all blockbuster revelations, but from where I’m sitting, the real howitzers are going to come from live and video testimony from previously unknown witnesses who start providing the individual threads that tie the whole thing together and lay it directly at Trump’s feet.

Sadly, I won’t see the hearing live, since it starts at 7 AM PDT, and I’m seldom conscious before 10. But I’ll watch the two hour deep dive recap on MSNBC Tuesday night, and MSNBC will reshow it in its entirety over the weekend. But this may end up being the best one yet.

  1. With the limited time they seem to provide for the detailed questions/answers, needed for galvanized nails in Trump’s personal size crate, two or even more may be needed to present the actual fist-full of pink slips to be handed directly to Trump’s shrinking image of an actual person …
