One of the problems with famous performers is that if we love their work, we think they themselves are wonderful people. We project onto them qualities that they frequently don’t possess and we just assume that if they can speak to our souls through their art, they must be on the same page with us in other areas of life as well. Wrong.

Eric Clapton used to be an alcoholic and a drug addict. It’s beyond irony that after all the chemicals he’s put in his body that he would advocate against a simple vaccine.

Here’s his video with people being herded to a small shed with smoke coming out of it. You want to speculate on what that is? I only ask because I’m hoping that somebody will tell me it’s not what I think it is because Eric Clapton wouldn’t be stupid enough to endorse the Marjorie Taylor Greene level of holocaust comparison.

Frankly, I think both the video and the song are amateurish and I am surprised that Clapton would put his name on this, but then I’m surprised that he has the anti-vaxx stance at all. Apparently he got the vaccine and had some side effects of numb extremities. That angered him into becoming an anti-vaxxer. I guess it didn’t occur to him that some temporary discomfort and dying are two very different propositions.

Money opens many doors, obviously, and fame on top of it frequently gives people a feeling of omniscience. And a lot of people will be assholes simply because they can get away with it. What is sad is that celebrities do have a lot of clout and Clapton is using his in this negative fashion.

He’s got his detractors, obviously. His anti-vaxx stance is likely to get him a lot more.

  1. You’ve got to wonder…in light of all his history, did Clapton become an asshole or as with so many others, did COVID just reveal him to be one all along?

  2. “Would you know my name, if I saw you in heaven?” Son replies – “You won’t be getting in but God told me I could give one message I directly to someone on earth. Your name is ASSHOLE!”

  3. What a disappointment he is. I agree that the song was poorly written and the imagery sucked. All the people that could use their platform for the good of all, and we get this.
