There has been speculation of “insider” activity during the Biden-Harris Inauguration in Washington, D.C. The government just relieved two troops of duty. Business Insider:

  • Two National Guard troops were pulled off the presidential inauguration security mission, the AP reported Tuesday.
  • The Guard members were found to have ties to right-wing militia groups, according to Army and intelligence officials.
  • The military, in partnership with the FBI, is vetting troops deployed to the nation’s capital to root out any with extremist views.

This is a developing story and will be updated as necessary.

  1. They should be booted from the Guard too. How can someone belonging to a militia group be trusted to protect and defend our government when they want to tear it down?

    • The two tribes aspect to American life right now is untenable. It’s not just about beliefs anymore. The Capitol riot changed all that. These people began stealing and wrecking government property. Organized illegal and violent activity is different from political opinion.

    • Probably won’t be booted from the Guard. They haven’t done anything criminal – yet – or that is known – yet. This has been a goal for years. Get the mind set into the military, police, etc. They did a damned good job and I believe – Vlad helped them with folks inside the groups. Russian assets don’t have an accent.

  2. Good, I guess. Better to be safe than sorry. I just worry about some dudes who like paintball or something being scarred by a triple six undeserved.

  3. It’s been standard practice to do a round of vetting of National Guard and other security folks that will be closest to the platform and therefore the VIPs. I’d bet that in the past some folks have been pulled, but we didn’t hear about it. This time a big spotlight is being shined on things so it’s news. For folks in the Guard in particular they’re going to be having a bad day. They will be subject to prosecution under the UCMJ and facing some pretty serious time which gives them plenty of motivation to cut a deal and help uncover others. And the clock is ticking. If anything goes down they are looking at decades of time behind bars, as the jury in a Courts Martial won’t be one even the highest priced defense attorney can stack with jury consultant screened “friendlies.” I’d even guess that the feds are on the trail of not just others like these two but bigger fish, and having good leads already only let out word about this not dynamic but dickhead duo to spook others that might be having thoughts of doing bad things tomorrow.

  4. I was in the Guard in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I don’t find this surprising in the least. They probably won’t lose their status as Guard members but will be sidelined in this situation for potential conflict of interest.
