The Lincoln Project is getting mileage out of its “Trump Smells” ad and we have former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Il.) to thank for that because in a post on X earlier this month he noted “I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odor. It’s truly something to behold,” he wrote. “Wear a mask if you can.” Of course, this isn’t the first time there’s been speculation about Trump’s rather squarish behind and whether or not he smells, but something else has also caught the attention of social media users.

Specifically, Trump’s “toe pads.”

Social media users have a lot to say about the two black rectangular pads spotted recently under Donald Trump’s feet as he spoke at Mar-a-Lago, The Independent reports.

“What is Trump standing on here?” PatriotTakes wondered. “How often does he use these?”

It does make me wonder. He’s clearly leaning in one photo, but standing straight in the photo with the toe pads. And yes, the jokes are coming in, with one user wondering “trump toe pads, desantis’ heels — does the Republican Party have a foot fetish?”

The Clear Cider noted, “To counter balance the 3-inch rear lifts in his shoes as he can no longer stabilize his bulbous weight upright on his own.”

And ooh, this one’s gotta sting: “PAB Trump needs toe pads to stand up without falling over. What an aLPHA MaLE!

Ouch!

Of course, the fact that the leaning tower of Trump has been observed during speeches and other media events led many users to speculate that the rectangular pads were meant to make him look as if he’s standing straight, but others also wondered about the state of his health in general.

Another person quipped “He now uses foot pads to prevent himself from tipping over. If Joe Biden did this, Fox News would talk about nothing else.”

But some users wondered if Trump could be suffering significant health issues — specifically surrounding his brain.

 

“That forward lean is an indicator of frontotemporal dementia. some have thought he was in early stages when he ran in 2016,” one user posted. “maga candidates relax: it progresses slowly.”

Others agreed with this possible diagnosis, sharing photos of the 2024 frontrunner with a list of symptoms that included “poor judgment,” “socially inappropriate behavior,” “loss of empathy,” (I’m not sure he ever had that to begin with), and “problems with balance.”

One account posted several other symptoms for Frontotemporal Dementia — but distinctly added another symptom that aligns with The Lincoln Project’s “Trump Smells” ad: “a decline in personal hygiene.”

Who really knows what’s going on with his health? Those in his circle keep few, if any rumors about his health from leaking out. Fortunately, we can’t say they were as careful about the thousands of highly classified documents he hoarded at Mar-a-Lago.

There’s that anyway.

  4. Ah, the stink of stuff oozing from his depends combined with the swarmy stuff coming out of his mouth—it’s enough to make an old man’s feet stick to the floor —hence the need for toe pads.
