Nothing here will surprise you, merely confirm your worst suspicions. The underbelly characters of American society all rally under the MAGA flag, like the denizens of the underworld in a Dick Tracy comic. And like Deadheads, they follow their messiah from rally to rally, town to town. Some of these are faces you may recognize from other rallies. And the sheer idiocy and lack of basic information will not shock you in the least. Now what is intriguing about what you’re about to see is that Donald Trump was reluctant at first to endorse QAnon. He did guardedly endorse it after a while, “they’ve said such nice things about me.” And he never endorsed the flat earthers. But it looks like they’re endorsing him, in droves. So will he reciprocate? Then we’ll have a climate denying flat earther running for our nation’s highest office.

This is a cult and these people are key acolytes. Make no mistake, that’s how cults work. It’s interesting to talk to a flat earther or any of the pseudo science crowd. That’s because they’re used to people who know absolutely nothing being impressed by the *information* they possess. But if you happen to be a person of normal education, at least high school and you read a newspaper, you can counteract 90% of their arguments on their face.
For instance, one argument (if you can believe this) for the earth being flat is the term “sea level.” That’s the basis of the conspiracy theory that *They* the people in charge running the show, the shadow government, know that the earth is flat but they want to lie to you and tell you it’s round, to suit their nefarious agenda. And *sea level* is just one of their slips.
But if you say that sea level is called that because the ocean is one continuous body of water, and its surface tends to seek the same level throughout the world (barring variations in gravity, winds, temperature, currents, many other factors) then watch them clam up. The flat earthers can only preach to other flat earthers or to people more stupid than they are. So will Trump endorse them? Or will he have to channel his uncle at M.I.T. from the great beyond and ask him?

Kandiss Taylor almost makes Marge Greene look sane. God help us. This is what the GOP looks like circling the drain. They’re trying to take America down with them, but if we get out the vote like never before, the sane can defeat the insane. That is what this election is about. It used to be about policy differences. Not this time. And not the last two times and who knows? Maybe it will be about Sanity v.
