I predicted years ago that Donald Trump would do for his surname what Adolf Hitler did for his. You won’t find anybody named Hitler these days and that’s been the case for quite some time. People with that last name changed it, and jimmy pronto. Therefore, you won’t be surprised to hear that the same thing is going on in New York City.

Blaine Trump, the widow of Trump’s younger brother, Robert, is still participating in charity events, but she doesn’t sign the name “Trump” to the invitations. She just uses her first name. She learned to do this back in 2022, when a waiter in California said he wouldn’t have served her if he knew she was a Trump. That’s why she uses her first name now, instead of Blaine Trump or Mrs. Trump. Page Six:

Trump is a such dirty word in high-society circles these days a relative of the indicted former president left her surname completely off a recent charity gala invitation.

Charity God’s Love We Deliver sent out a letter to supporters for its upcoming Golden Heart Awards dinner — where tables go for up to $150,000. You can even have your name on the event that will honor Scarlett Johansson and Ben Platt for $500,000.

Chairpersons include Vogue boss Anna Wintour, fashion maven Michael Kors and the designer’s CEO John Idol.

But at the bottom of the letter asking, “to help us make this the most successful Golden Hearts Awards ever,” is another name, just “Blaine.” That’s it.

I don’t blame Blaine one iota. I would have done it too, and probably sooner than she did. I’m wondering if Melania and Barron will do that. Frankly, I’m almost ready to make book on it. Why should Barron carry the burden of a hated and reviled name throughout his life? He’s 17, he’s got a long road ahead. And Melania’s still young, she can do many more things with her life.

I’m willing to bet when all is said and done that the two of them will be splitsville with Trumpty and he can play parcheesi with Kari Lake or whatever, the rest of his mortal days, wearing an ankle bracelet. Just watch.

And as to Ivanka and Jared, they have no chance at being accepted in New York high society. They know it. That’s why they’re in Florida. There’s enough nuttiness down there that being a Trump is an okay thing. But that may change too. We haven’t seen the final act of this madcap macabre play yet.

  1. It seems to be in line with the owners of certain buildings removing the trump name, as well.
I think you’re right. Anybody with any sense will disown that name.

    • PS; one exception to the disowning the name would be Mary Trump. She has good sense and as far as I know, doesn’t need to mix with the high society types. For professional reasons, I suppose she would keep the name.

      • Her degrees and possibly her professional license (s) are in her name: Mary Trump. Is she married? I’ve no idea but if she is, she kept her given name. When you start obtaining advanced degrees and professional licenses, keeping your own name seems logical. I’ve never understood why women change their name in the first place especially in the 21st century. It is archaic, insulting, and quite frankly dehumanizing.

        • I feel for Mary Trump. She loved her father and I bet she keeps her name to honor him. It’s such a shame that her father Fred happened to be P01135809’s older brother. I read her first book and her dad seemed like a decent guy. Just my take. Mary is pretty cool.

        • Which is why it’s so appropriate that the only woman running on the GOP’s side uses her husband’s name for her professional/political life.
She’d have never gotten anywhere in the GOP as “Nikki Randhawa,” especially if her marital status came to light.

  2. My great aunts Molly and Rose lived in Palm.Beach and New York would have wanted nothing to do with Trump. They were Jews. They remembered the Holocaust and pogroms and would have seen Trump as a,wannabe Hitler and Stalin. Dad who was born in 1930. Half Irish, half Russian Jewish,he voted for Obama. He would have had to be in ends stage dementia to.vote for Trump. Actually there is a good chance knowing that Trump.was running might have tipped him.over.

  3. It won’t be the first time they’ve changed the family name. I forget who, but I seem to recall grandpa ran from service in Prussia, came into America illegally. God the irony is thick with these nazis.

    • Grandpa draft dodger actually came from Bavaria (not Prussia) which was a separate kingdom up until 1918 and he entered the country legally (and ran brothels). There was no immigration visa system back then.

He was banned from Bavaria when he tried to return home. He wrote begging to be allowed:

“Most Serene, Most Powerful Prince Regent! Most Gracious Regent and Lord!

I was born in Kallstadt on March 14, 1869. My parents were honest, plain, pious vineyard workers. They strictly held me to everything good — to diligence and piety, to regular attendance in school and church, to absolute obedience toward the high authority.

After my confirmation, in 1882, I apprenticed to become a barber. I emigrated in 1885, in my sixteenth year. In America I carried on my business with diligence, discretion, and prudence. God’s blessing was with me, and I became rich. I obtained American citizenship in 1892. In 1902 I met my current wife. Sadly, she could not tolerate the climate in New York, and I went with my dear family back to Kallstadt.

The town was glad to have received a capable and productive citizen. My old mother was happy to see her son, her dear daughter-in-law, and her granddaughter around her; she knows now that I will take care of her in her old age.

But we were confronted all at once, as if by a lightning strike from fair skies, with the news that the High Royal State Ministry had decided that we must leave our residence in the Kingdom of Bavaria. We were paralyzed with fright; our happy family life was tarnished. My wife has been overcome by anxiety, and my lovely child has become sick.

Why should we be deported? This is very, very hard for a family. What will our fellow citizens think if honest subjects are faced with such a decree — not to mention the great material losses it would incur. I would like to become a Bavarian citizen again.

In this urgent situation I have no other recourse than to turn to our adored, noble, wise, and just sovereign lord, our exalted ruler His Royal Highness, highest of all, who has already dried so many tears, who has ruled so beneficially and justly and wisely and softly and is warmly and deeply loved, with the most humble request that the highest of all will himself in mercy deign to allow the applicant to stay in the most gracious Kingdom of Bavaria.

      Your most humble and obedient,

      Friedrich Trump”

Now we know where the whininess comes from

  4. Thanks for the info Daithi. I know I’d be considering changing my name and moving to a remote area with neighbors that don’t keep up with anything but the weather.

  5. Mary L Trump is married to a nice woman. She has written two books about her uncle. “Too Much and Never Enough” and “The Reckoning”. I highly recommend them.
