A reliable means to gauge President Donald Trump’s ongoing troubles related to the economy, Epstein, and renegade MAGAs like MTG is to take note of the volume of White House-released video of him with his grandchildren, whether it is golfing with Kai, or throwing a football around the “Presidential Walk of Fame” with grandson Theodore Kushner, Trump tends to gravitate toward the grandchildren in an effort to be sympathetic in times of need. But his latest attempt to distract may have had the opposite effect when people watching the Ivanka-posted video of Trump playing catch with his grandson pointed out just how awful Trump looked, particularly the almost “drunken” leg sway and unbalanced walk, as chronicled here by X’s indefatigable Mystery Solvent:

Yeah, that’s bad, and the Irish Times went beyond a simple shake of the head and interviewed some experts to weigh in on what is really going on here. As they report:
Dr John Gartner claimed that the president’s coordination has declined in recent years, as he noted that this type of deterioration is a symptom of dementia “When we talk about deterioration from dementia, I was focusing on language because that’s the thing we most observe, but also we always see deterioration in motor performance,” he told The Dean Obeidallah Show.
Not only is this notable, but it has a uniquely specific diagnostic link to what is called Frontotemporal dementia, and that several other experts had seen the same in Trump. To be sure, some of us had studied up on FTD in Trump’s first administration, certain that he was deteriorating and wouldn’t make it through the first four years, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it does seem to be worse now; he’s six years older, and his legs are already swollen “cankles.” So it is of note:
“The other things that’s actually even more diagnostic, and I had a neurologist point this out and then several neurologists confirmed it, if you watch the way he walks, he has what they call a leg swing, where his right he kind of swings it in a semicircle like it’s a dead weight, and he’s just kind of swinging it around,” Dr Gartner explained.
“It’s very apparent in some tape and not so much in others, but that right leg swing is considered to be very diagnostic of a specific type of dementia, Frontotemporal dementia,” he added. Dr Gartner said that forensic psychiatrist Dr Zoffman even told him that “she’s absolutely convinced that it’s Frontotemporal dementia that he has because of that telltale right leg swing.”
Right. But it goes beyond gait, many people are now looking at the “Quiet, piggy!” comment in a new light, that Trump may not be able to hold his tongue like he had in the past and is more prone to what amount to monumental mistakes (The “Quiet, Piggy!” comment cut deeply on social media, with even Trump’s staunchest defenders unable to do much other than say something akin to “that was bad.”) It is also true that this isn’t happening in a medical vacuum, Trump has of late again been talking about “acing” psych evals and that he recently had an MRI done – it is more than possible that Trump’s own doctors are acutely interested in the latest developments and watching him closely.
There are a ton of murmurs about a possible stroke.
Of course, all of this is made harder by the fact that he was never eloquent, always butchered sentences, always seemed out of breath and fleshy, overweight, out of shape, so it makes one-to-one comparisons difficult. What is easy, though, is noting that Trump’s inability to walk a straight line in a hall is undeniable. What does it all mean? Well, X had some fun with that.

Of course, the MAGAs line up with a parade of “He’s 79 years old FFS!!” and yes, that is true, but it is also the point. We all shut down, none of us is getting younger, none of us recovers like we used to. But we’re not the ones weighing war with Venezuela, deploying the U.S. military on the home front, or attempting to stare down China. So it is relevant, it does appear to be getting worse, and even though this has gone on for some time, it has never come on with a stagnating economy, worsening poll numbers, Epstein, and MAGA defections.
It is worth watching.

And the MAGAts just show how stupid they really are because they’d NEVER use that as an excuse if Biden displayed the same physical issues. No. In that situation, it would be “Of course, he’s like that because he’s 79 years old.”
Biden broke his foot in a cycling accident and admitted he did fully follow his rehab plan. So instead of bounding around he began walking slower and more deliberately. However he never displayed the type of imbalance we’ve seen with Trump. He just started walking slowly and more carefully.
MAGAs freaked the fuck out and most of the media and too many Democratic politicians and donors went right along with the “HE’S TOO OLD AND INFIRM NOW” bullshit. Yes, he was eighty freaking years old for fucks sake but his mind was still sharp and again I’ll refer you to his mastery of the last NATO Summit (in DC no less) he presided over with unmatched skill, and that no questions off limits prime time press conference where he fucking SCHOOLED all those journalists licking their chops hoping to make a name for themselves by bringing him down with a complex question that he’d badly fumble answering.
Now? MAGA and too many others are complaining some of us are being ageist, unfair and being bad people for not giving Trumpty Dumpty a break because he’s old!
