Boy, did Donald Trump step in it yugely this time. This is beyond satire. Trump, who is always talking about the hordes of illegal migrants swarming over the southern border just found a way to give citizenship away. Are you ready for this? Clipped to each AA degree that an immigrant may earn will be a green card. Even Steve Bannon is going nuts over this and I’m sure this will be fodder for next Thursday’s debate. Bonkers is as bonkers does and even for Trump this is getting pretty far out there. Politico:
Former President Donald Trump suggested on Thursday that foreign students who graduate from college in the United States should receive a green card so they can stay in the country.
“You graduate from a college, I think you should get automatically as part of your diploma a green card to be able to stay in this country, and that includes junior colleges too,” Trump said in an episode on the All-In podcast, which is hosted by several venture capitalists. He floated the idea after being asked by a host if he would promise to “give us ability to import the best and brightest around the world to America.” […]
It’s unclear if Trump’s suggestion on Thursday also applies to those who came to the country illegally.
“I know of stories where people graduated from a top college or from college, and they desperately wanted to stay here and had a plan for a company, a concept. And they can’t,” Trump said. “Somebody graduates at the top of the class, they can’t even make a deal with a company because they don’t think they’re going to be able to stay in the country. That is going to end on day one.”
So wait a minute now, Trump is the friend of the tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free — as long as they can graduate from community college? One person who is not taking this well is Steve Bannon, not a tall a tall.
I don’t believe any of the White Christian Movement would agree. They’re not afraid of violent immigrants (since the percentage of undocumented immigrants is extremely low) they just don’t want any immigrant who’s not white in America.

He flip-flops on his supporters, and on this one he's betrayed them. lol. He'll in some way deny it though.

This is vintage Trump. He makes up policies on the spot, depending upon who he’s talking to. Here, he was asked about bringing “the best and the brightest” into the country and so he made up a cockamamie scheme right there on the spot, not even realizing that he was completely undercutting his major (and only) talking point of the 2024 election, which is the alleged hordes of migrants invading the United States and replacing the white man.
Nope, Trump wants to help them invade. Or so it would seem. Wait for the spin and the fallout on this one, it will be dizzying.

“Trump, … just found a way to give citizenship away. Are you ready for this? Clipped to each AA degree that an immigrant may earn will be a green card.”
Sorry, but a green card does not confer citizenship nor the right to vote. It merely confers the right to live and work in the U.S., though it can be revoked and the person deported if certain crimes are comitted.
However, as a legal resident, after a few years the green card holder may apply for citizenship, but must still take and pass the citizenship test in order to to succeed in that, a thing that Trump would find impossible unless he paid someone to take the test for him, having no knowledge of the constitution or how our government is set up or works. For example, I sincerely doubt that Trump could name the three branches of government or what each is supposed to do.
Frankly, a green card attached to each AA degree is about the only good idea Trump has ever had, but you have to realize that like all of Trump’s empty promises, it’s simply a ploy to get votes, and if he was elected such a promise would never become reality. He’s just too much of a bigot to ever actually follow through on that one.
Biden, though, likely would make it real if the balance of power in Congress permits. I doubt if an executive order would be sufficient.
He’s demonstrating, once again, that if you don’t stand for anything, you’ll fall for anything.
this is why he’ll be demolished in the debate. he feels he always HAS to say something, anything without thinking.
