Donald Trump can’t expect the obligatory convention bounce after last night. In fact, he’ll be lucky if he gets a convention blip. Overnight Nielsen ratings are in. Trump’s acceptance speech, the longest in history and a real snoozer to boot, was not an attention grabber.
It’s somewhat interesting to me that on the Dem side the gap between Biden and Harris overnight ratings (8%) was quite a bit less than the gap between Trump and Pence ratings (34%).

You won’t hear a peep from the Republicans about this. If they don’t win, they’re silent. They only speak when there’s something to crow about and ratings — as important as they are to Trump — are not it.
66 days to go.
I never looked at the ratings for anything until *rump. It os nice to see him flattened a bit more.
I knew it. All the more reason to have hope that their message is not selling anywhere new. I keep having this niggling thought that trumps base only came out for the fun of, “owning the libs” together, and now that the rallies have fizzled away, I wonder if they will even vote for him in large numbers. I just have a weird feeling about it, I can’t shake it.
It would be nice, if that holds true.
It sure would be.
Nothing weird about that, Cmae. The party is almost over and many of them sense it. And if anything resembling work is required to keep things going, they’re not interested. Therein lies our opportunity.
Someone on DK commented that trump could still be speaking, since all the networks cut off at an hour. For some reason that makes me smile.
Bill Palmer has a theory that Trump might actually get a NEGATIVE convention bounce out of this. That would be the final insult to his pride.
I’ve just realised that all the times Don John kept saying ‘bigly’ he was actually saying ‘big lie’.
