Fact checking and confrontation are the only tools that we have to combat the firehose of falsehood that emanates not only from Donald Trump but from his campaign. In the next four and a half months you might want to wear thigh high boots, because you’re going to be wading through manure that high. Here is a stellar example of 1. What Trump says; 2. What the reality of the thing is, and finally 3. Heaven help us if his lies are believed. The truth needs to be told every single day from now until November 5 about what has really gone on, not what he says has gone on, which is pure self serving fantasy.
He said "We have record funding to historically Black colleges and universities. You all know that." But what he never says is that for his 4 budgets, he requested $107M in cuts for the 3 largest Title III programs! pic.twitter.com/jp5QI2o6Zg

Biden's 4 budgets requested an increase of $351M for those 3 programs, and so far there has been a $77M increase (FY25 not done). His is more impressive because HBCU funding grew at 2X the rate of the federal budget; for Trump it grew less than half. 4/https://t.co/fi2S9vjyeS

He has said in the past it was like 40 presidents that came every year. I've never heard anyone talk about that beyond the infamous 2017 photo opp. Being generous maybe he meant the presidents of UNCF, TMCF, & NAFEO. But if they came I'm sure he would have taken pictures… 6/

Then he says, "And I got them actually more money than they asked for by far!" 8/ pic.twitter.com/qLyoWFlp9G

UNCF followed up with a letter to OMB expressing concerns, noting "flat funding for the core Title III (HBCUs) program and deep cuts to federal student aid programs." 10/ pic.twitter.com/UY7J89J03j

Let's try again. Maybe because he was new to the job he wanted to see. Here is the HBCU coalition's requests for all the major federal HBCU programs. The last 2 columns are Trump's FY20 budget, and our FY20 request. Again, is this more than we asked for? 12/ pic.twitter.com/8cKDgxAsm3

Finally, he pats himself on the back for giving long term funding (which Obama did first, he zeroed out, and Alma Adams brought back), and then says of the HBCU presidents "And I think all of them are voting for Trump… I'd say 99% of them."
Such a funny guy! 13/13 pic.twitter.com/casVPmMbN9

Again I say, Blacks For Trump, or Niggas For Trump, are to my mind the same as Chickens For Colonel Sanders or Mice For Cats. And Tim Scott and Byron Donalds and even Ben Carson, Oreos all, can sell their souls and claim how Trump is on the side of working people and Blacks and it is all hogwash and cow pucky. It’s not real.
I don’t know who Trump is trying to impress: any Black people remotely tuned into Black issues pretty much know the truth about who he is. He’s going to need more than the occasional figurehead sell out Rep or Senator shilling for him on the public airwaves to move the needle in the Black community.
And I hope that the presidents of these historically Black colleges and universities do do some kind of an informal poll post election. Let’s see if 99% of them voted for Donald Trump. I can’t wait.

Good work! Keep it up!
