This prediction is off the walls but what is noteworthy about it is that it’s coming from a right-wing journalist who has a solid track record of predicting what Trump will do next. Otherwise I would find this totally ignorable clickbait. But Mark Halperin either has some reason to predict this, or he flat out doesn’t care if he trashes his reputation today. Neither of those alternatives makes any sense, but we have to begin somewhere. Take a listen.

It sounds off the walls, right? But I’ll say this much, Halperin did call the shot conclusively on the last election. He cited the fact that both parties had internal data that was consistent, and it consistently showed Trump at two points or so ahead in the swing states. Turns out that was spot on. So either Halperin is some kind of a mystic, or he does indeed have an inside track to what is going on. That’s the reason I take him seriously, as a general proposition, and that’s why I find this flamboyant crack today pretty surprising.
Halperin also predicted a “complete mental breakdown” amongst the Democrats in the event of a Trump win. Look, that’s pretty accurate, too. A lot of Democrats have tuned out from politics since last November. I can’t blame any of them. But it has been a burden that this website has had to deal with that our traffic is off. (And many outlets’ traffic is down, not just us.) Halperin has a two-hour interview on YouTube if you want to hear these and other details.
Halperin also predicted that Joe Biden would announce his withdrawal from the race on a Sunday. Not sure where he got that one from either or if it was a good guess. Again, point being, the guy has a respectable track record.
So does that mean there is merit to this Bizarro World prediction? I sure can’t see it. Halperin has caled Putin a “war criminal” and certainly that’s accurate. We’ll put that in the “things Halperin is right about” column as well.
And on a certain level, IF Trump would arrest Putin on U.S. soil then that might indeed get him a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, which is his obsession. Would Trump create an international incident like that to get the nomination? Is he that nuts? And the plain reality is, the Kremlin might not care. They might be grateful that Trump has relieved them of their burden.
This one beats the hell out of me. It truly does. If it was Alex Jones making this statement or Nick Fuentes or Laura Loomer or any number of right-wing whackos it would not be worth the time of day to repeat it. But Halperin does have some credibility as a seer. Or at least he used to, prior to August 15, 2025.
The day is not yet over. Let’s see what happens next. Color me baffled.

I have to tell you, this turned out to be more of a farce than I anticipated. Truly. And that’s saying something, because I looked forward to today for comic relief, an opportunity for high level mockery.
