Trump War as Treasury Sec. Bessent Threatens to Punch Finance Chief Pulte in the ‘F*cking Face’

Apparently, there has been a long-simmering war within some of Trump’s economic advisors, one which remained largely out of view to those of us focused on the administration’s destruction of the republic, but has been quite apparent within the halls of power for some time within the White House and cabinet. These people, especially those affiliated with economic policy, are all certifiable jackasses, or they wouldn’t be there. But among them, it looks as though Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent manages to stand out as particularly bad within a group of bad hombres. He has threatened another member of the administration, and over the weekend, he almost came to blows with housing finance chief Bill Pulte for sh*ttalking  him to Donald Trump during a white-hot, profanity-laced clash that dozens witnessed.

Of course, being the Trump administration, the whole thing went down at a posh club, indeed, called the “Executive Branch Club” (No lack of power pretense there), where everyone gathered for a birthday. We go to Mediaite for a breakdown of something that nearly went a couple of rounds:

Witnesses said Bessent erupted after hearing Pulte had been gossiping about him directly to Trump. Pulte, who oversees the Federal Housing Finance Agency, reportedly appeared stunned by the outburst.

“Why the f*ck are you talking to the president about me? F*ck you,” Bessent told Pulte, according to witnesses.

“I’m gonna punch you in your f*cking face,” he added.

One witness relayed how financier Omeed Malik intervened to separate the pair before Bessent turned to him: “It’s either me or him. You tell me who’s getting the f*ck out of here. Or we could go outside.”

“To do what?” Pulte asked. “To talk?”

“No,” Bessent reportedly shot back. “I’m going to f*cking beat your ass.”

Now, again, it cannot be emphasized enough, there are no good guys here, no one worth cheering on; these are all assholes. But you just know that the bad talk among MAGA denizens reaches a fever pitch in the near-Trump-orbit because you have to believe that Trump just loves this stuff. But one can see that if Pulte really was trash-talking in nothing but gossip, how it could really upset someone. It is just as easy to see how it would be that Pulte would feel obligated to tell Trump the truth about some nefarious stuff about Bessent.

We don’t know much about Pulte. But Bessent is one of the most powerful members of the cabinet, and it is surprising to hear that he was causing waves. Despite the fact that people in close proximity to the Oval Office have immense power, members of the cabinet still outrank them in the official executive branch world (and thus, one would think, at the Executive Branch Club).

Still, these are grown adults in powerful positions, and it is probably best that they undercut each other in old-fashioned ways, undermining their power through backdoor whispers (Which it sounds like Pulte might be doing) and not in people’s faces at a birthday party. Speaking of which, even though they surely all enjoyed good food and a ton of drinks, one would think that it would still be more fun over nachos and bowling. But it is Trump’s administration, and it’s all clubs these days.

Not just any club, though. This is the dog-eat-dog Executive Branch, and one would hope that this stuff happens with enough regularity that we hear about it from this point forward. Couldn’t happen to more deserving people.
