Donald Trump has made it his personal cause celebre to make a martyr out of Charlie Kirk. We are all going to eat, sleep, and breathe Kirk every single step of the way. A normal president would leave all this to law enforcement but not Trump. He loves playing avenging angel. It gives him a flatform from which to pontificate about the evils of the “lunatic left” and divide the nation even further than it is. The state of the investigation as of early Friday morning is that Trump went on Fox News and announced the arrest of a suspect. Axios is reporting Trump’s comment, but not the details of the alleged arrest. (May I remind you that two days ago Kash Patel was crowing about having a suspect and that quickly went south.) So this may be Trump making up shit for his own amusement. We will see as time goes by.

The latest:Â Trump said he learned of the development five minutes before the interview, and that law enforcement would release more details later in the day.
- “With a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody,” Trump said.
- “I hope he gets the death penalty,” the president said.
The big picture: It follows a widespread search that began soon after the influential MAGA podcaster and Turning Point USA cofounder was fatally shot Wednesday in Utah, setting off a nationwide period of mourning and a heated dispute about who’s to blame for political violence.
- The FBI had offered a $100,000 reward and released photos of a person of interest in the case on Thursday, later releasing video footage of the shooting suspect fleeing the scene.
Interesting that the first thing law enforcement would do is call the White House, isn’t it? Doesn’t seem to be protocol to me but then again we know that Bongino and Patel went to Utah. That was announced yesterday. And maybe the intrepid duo and local authorities were able to find a suspect.
Or, maybe this is Trump being Trump. It is crystal clear at this point that he’s looking for a victim. He refuses to just do his job (or provide a facsimile of same) and let law enforcement do theirs. Trump is hell bent on playing Inspector Clouseau.
Maybe some tall, thin male in Utah is in custody. That could be a lot of people. But I don’t think Trump cares. I think he is looking to stick a head on a pike and doesn’t care whose it is. This is all theater to him, always has been.

I checked and major news outlets are reporting the state of Utah has a suspect in custody. It seems family members saw the photos and turned him in. We will see if there’s actual evidence he did the shooting. This will be an ugly circus. If the guy is in fact guilty he owes it to the country to have his lawyer immediately plead him guilty in exchange for life without parole. Get this effing matter over and out of the news as in right now. Because Trumpty and conservatives want to milk this for all they can. The longer it drags out the better as far as they’re concerned.

I’m watching the start of the news conference and I’ve got a question. Utah’s Gov. spoke of evidence from the rifle, describing what he says was written on those shell casings from unfired rounds. They had a LOT of stuff on them! I call bullshit that someone could write all that on a shell casing for a typical rifle, even a .50 cal sniper rifle.
Show us the fucking pictures. Seems to me like it would take special equipment that could say do laser etchings to put all that wording on a shell casing. This young man doesn’t strike me as someone who could afford that. Well, we shall see. But it looks to me like they are determined to turn this into a liberal firebrand carrying out a grand left-wing attack.
Watching Patel who just concluded his remarks saying to Kirk to rest and he’ll see him in Valhalla I’m certain I heard him mis-speak. If I’m wrong and there is an afterlife as described in the bible the only place those two will meet is in HELL.
