Since this just now happened, there isn’t any context for it, yet. This is Trump in his Rambo phase. The only thing that we can hope and pray is that whomever carried out this mission knew what they were doing because it’s a cinch that the guy who ordered it doesn’t. And that begs the question, who ordered it? Not a good situation when you have more questions than facts but that is the new abnormal, get used to it.

And threatening in all-caps to kill people is the way a normal leader talks. And he may have come up with this as a distraction from his ill advised and asinine tariffs. That’s supposed to take effect today.

Ursula, either I’m missing the sarcasm here or you posted something without fully proofing it first. If it was intended as sarcasm, you might need to recall that’s something that rarely comes off from reading the words (in a video, it can definitely come through in tone of voice or knowing the views of the person speaking the words). If it wasn’t intended as sarcasm, I think there should’ve been a “not” stuck in there.

I don’t know if you ever served but long ago I was a Marine grunt. Back in the 1980s when we were in Lebanon bailing out Israel’s ass again. I didn’t serve there but by god should have except Reagan chickened out after the Barracks Bombing, had us turn tail and run from the fight. That’s a long, long topic. The point is that incompetent leadership in DC led to those deaths at the airport. What YOU don’t seem to get is we have far less competent leadership now than back then.
I won’t speak for anyone else but I want something a LOT more substantive than Trumpty’s statement that a) we took out an ISIS leader and some other bad guys, and b) no innocents were killed in the attack. It’s easy to bomb the hell out of a bunch of caves in the middle of nowhere – and CLAIM they contained a hotbed of terrorists. Given all the bulllshit lies this President has made I can easily see him pulling a stunt, a demonstration/photo op about what a billy-bad-ass he is. And LYING his ass off about who was in some caves in the middle of nowhere.
That dude is what Ursula is driving at. Just because Trumpty said something doesn’t make it so. But going back to my original point those who carry out missions, even if there’s no actual opposition that can fight back during a strike have to trust that from the top of the chain-of-command all the way down to them that they are in fact carrying out an actual mission worth carrying out! The aircraft we now have are far more reliable than we once had but EVERY time someone flies a fighter/strike aircraft there’s a chance things can go bad with the aircraft even if there’s no enemy shooting at them. Or, if they came from a carrier simply taking off or landing again can get you killed in so many ways your blood would run cold if you don’t know about Naval Aviation!
However, if it’s your turn in the rotation you get the briefing on the targe to be hit, the ordnance that will be dropped and you strap in and fly. TRUSTING that those who cut the orders have sent you on a valid mission. My active duty days are more decades in the past than I care to admit. However, if the me of all those decades ago was still on active duty I would have ZERO faith, NONE in the Commander in Chief and his brand new completely unqualified SecDef. All THEY care about is their “TV Show” for the masses.
