This really is an Old Man Shouts At Clouds level of story. A reporter for the New York Times has managed to pique Donald Trump’s ire for simply reporting that he has 39% fewer engagements this term, when compared to last, a statistic which is easily obtainable if you do the research. Trump is slowing down and that’s not exactly news for somebody who is 79 years old — and particularly somebody who is morbidly obese and known to have a bad diet. The news value of this story would be if nature was doing something other than taking its course.
But Trump went positively apeshit over both the reporter and the outlet. Naturally, since the reporter is female, Trump has to say that she’s “ugly” because for him that’s the worse thing that a woman could possibly be. The crack describes Trump’s mental landscape moreso than describing the woman being disparaged.
And the New York Times is not “ready to fold” as Trump raves. But here, you read what he has to say and see how mentally healthy you think it is.
“The Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite. They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE,” Trump wrote.
“The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out. Despite all of this, I have my highest Poll Numbers, ever, and with record setting investment being made in America, they should only go up,” he added.
Total lies. He’s got his lowest poll numbers and the *investments* are fantasy. There is no $17 Trillion in investments pouring into this country, except in Trump’s mind.
“There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (“That was aced”) JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now!”
I think Trump’s worried about his mortality. These hints keep coming up from time to time and this is yet another one. Most 79 year old people don’t go bonkers when you suggest that they might have slowed down recently. It is what it is as we all age.
Trump, who is on course to be the oldest sitting president in U.S. history, didn’t help his argument that he is not suffering physical or cognitive decline in his rambling Truth Social Post.
While listing off his accomplishments during the 2024 election, the president wrote that he “one our Nation’s Districts by 2750 to 550,” instead using the correct word “won.”
If only he knew how utterly batshit he sounds when he goes on and on about that cognitive test. I wonder if anybody in the White House ever tried to explain to Trump that the cognitive test is for the purpose of seeing if somebody is lucid at the most basic level — not if they’re a great intellect on the scale of Stephen Hawkings.
In response, a spokesperson for the Times told the Daily Beast that their reporting is “accurate and built on firsthand reporting of the facts.”
“Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this,” the spokesperson said.
Good for the Times for standing up to Trump for a change. And I’m willing to bet that Katie Rogers isn’t worried what some obese old man with a bad combover thinks of her appearance. Next to the cognitive exam mystery, I would love to know why Trump thinks that a woman will meltdown like the Wicked Witch if told she’s “ugly.” Doesn’t Trump know that girls find out when they’re very small that misogyny exists and they learn how to live with it?
And I’m sure that Trump doesn’t know that a lot of women who may not be beauty queen material nevertheless find love and happiness in life, both in their career and personally. All that Trump is doing when he disparages a woman’s looks is telling the world, “I buy women and I’m letting you know I wouldn’t buy you.”
If Trump had any idea how few women actually care if he would pony up money for them it would blow his mind beyond the ability of all cognitive tests to measure, past and future. Not every woman has to sell herself to a man with money and Trump simply doesn’t know that and how would he, considering the kinds of women he surrounds himself with and the way he has *lived* his life? Not every human transaction is shallow and financial like it is in Trump’s world.
It’s still only November. We’ve got a long hard slug ahead of us to get through this interminable presidential term. And Trump isn’t getting any saner, that much is certain.

I googled her, just out of curiosity. To me, she just looks normal, not ugly. At least she doesn’t have the look like she has had “work done”, all artificial. That seems to be the standard in tRump world, unless one is born a stunning beauty. She looks like a real woman imo.
I googled her, too. There’s Katie, who is pretty, not ugly by any means. And there’s Trump, who gives warthogs a bad name. What a petty, pissant, poor excuse for human being.
Not only old, but visibly depleted, rapidly depleting and continuing to insidiously deplete.
All that Trump is doing when he disparages a woman’s looks is telling the world, “I buy women and I’m letting you know I wouldn’t buy you.” If Trump had any idea how few women actually care if he would pony up money for them it would blow his mind beyond the ability of all cognitive tests to measure, past and future.
Trump regards all women as pieces of meat hanging on a rotating rack. The first quality he looks for is beauty (in his eyes). The second is malleability: will a woman bend to his world view including the lower status of women. He hates female reporters (and all reporters) if they challenge him on AMYTHING!!!
Drumpf blather: While listing off his accomplishments during the 2024 election, the president wrote that he “one our Nation’s Districts by 2750 to 550,” instead using the correct word “won.”
Um, what are these “districts” to which he refers? I wasn’t aware that the country was divided into “districts.” We do have legislative districts but the US House only has 435 of them. If he means “counties” (or “county-equivalents” as several states don’t have counties), well, per the Wiki article on “County (United States),” there are only 3144 of them in the US that can vote for President (there are about 100 of them in US territories but, again, those residents/citizens can’t cast votes in Presidential elections) and his claim totals to 3300. And there are waaaaay more than 3300 state legislative districts, the districts responsible for electing the members of the various states’ legislators. In just the states’ lower chambers, there are more 4800 such districts, not including Nebraska’s 49 single chamber membership (adding those pushes the total closer to 4900 but still not quite); if you just count the upper chambers (including Nebraska’s 49 legislators–officially styled as “senators”), you only have a bit over 1900 districts.
I know we can’t expect much reality from Drumpf or his rantings and ramblings but it would be nice to know where he pulled this number from (other than his fat behind).
Boys learn very young that they can hurt very young girls by calling them ugly, ideally make them cry. Trump’s mired in a pre-pubescent mindset so he’s never advanced beyond that level of playground cruelty. Never will. Deep down, he knows that the women who question him are way smarter and more sophisticated than he is, but because he’s so stupid and inarticulate, his only defence is disparaging their appearance. It’s just a short distance away from his ultimate defence, which would be hitting them, as nasty boys in schoolyards do. Such a sad excuse for a man.
