Twitter is Donald Trump’s playpen and this morning was a continuation of his foot stomping, toy throwing tweet torrent aimed at “special councel” Robert Mueller, which has been going on since Saturday. While Trump waved his tiny fists and wailed about “Angry Democrat Thugs” who are a “National Disgrace” and “looking for trouble,” Melania Trump delivered opening remarks at a cyberbullying summit in Maryland.
“In today’s global society, social media is an inevitable part of our children’s daily lives. It can be used in many positive ways, but can also be destructive and harmful when used incorrectly,” the first lady said during the Federal Partners in Cyberbullying Prevention summit in Maryland. “That is why Be Best chooses to focus on the importance of teaching our next generation how to conduct themselves safely and in a positive manner in an online setting.”
“Let’s face it: most children are more aware of the benefits and pitfalls of social media than some adults, but we still need to do all we can to provide them with information and tools for successful and safe online habits,” Melania Trump said.
Pundits are already going on about the possible esoteric meaning of Melania’s pussy bowed blouse and how the words “some adults” might be a veiled swipe at Trump. Hope springs eternal that this woman actually possesses a social conscience. Just taking the story at face value, there is delicious irony in the fact that Melania professes great alarm at “destructive” “harmful” use of social media when Hubby tweeted just last week that a former staffer was a “low life” and a “dog.”
This begs the obvious question of why Melania, purportedly possessing knowledge of how to combat cyberbullying, doesn’t use it on the world class cyberbully she’s married to. Isn’t this just like the circus fat lady telling others how to lose weight?
