For the moment, let’s go with it and we’ll certainly clarify one way or the other if in fact it’s fake. It comes from a reliable source on Twitter/X and let’s face it, in Donald Trump’s mind, this is just fine. He worships Putin and he’s just fine with America becoming a Russian colony, particularly if his BFF Vlad is able to bail him out of his financial difficulties and treat him like a big shot. Those are Trump’s main aims in life, not running the government or going down in history as a competent leader. That’s for adults to worry about and if there’s one word beginning in “A” that Trump has never been accused of being, it’s an adult. An adulterer, yes, a$$hole, constantly, but adult? Never.

Khrushchev scared the hell out of everybody back in the 50’s, slamming his loafer on the United Nations podium. He was a bit bizarre, to say the very least. He inherited the helm when Joseph Stalin passed and so he was old school, WWII mentality, “I have the bomb” all the way.
But he didn’t want to use the bomb. And Khrushchev didn’t want to parachute down troops from planes. None of that. He wanted to do a Joe McCarthy kind of erosion and so does Vladimir Putin. And that’s what we have in this country.

It was said the day that DeSantis pulled out of the race that he hadn’t really pulled out of the race; meaning, yes, he ran out of money but psychologically he still had the delusion that somehow, like the dutiful understudy, he would be called on stage to become the star when Trump either 1. collapsed; 2. was sent to prison; 3. something else debilitating and disqualifying. This appearance of DeSantis in South Carolina today would tend to prove the truth of that.

That is the bottom line. If Haley actually has the guts to not endorse Trump, but to endorse Biden so that the country can finally be rid of Trump, then she may be the vanguard of a new conservative party post-Trump. At least it is theoretically possible.
If, on the other hand, she throws her lot in with him and endorses him, then it’s more of the GOP self immolation.
Let’s see what Haley does. This will be most instructive.
