I wonder what brought this about? Month after month for the past few years now, we have heard from Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff, who used to be besties with Melania Trump. You may recall that Winston-Wolkoff was quite the controversial figure when she was allegedly paid many millions of dollars for the Trump Inauguration and some of that money found its way into Melania’s coffers for such arduous tasks as choosing placemats and napkins. When Melania does that function, it costs six figures, folks. But something happened today or yesterday to get Donald Trump involved in this feud because he just lambasted Winston-Wolkoff.
I wonder what brought that about? Maybe Donald is trying to effect a reconciliation of some sort with Melania and he decided that if he publicly humiliated Winston-Wolkoff, who has been very critical of Melania, that would do it. Winston-Wolkoff was the one who revealed that Melania called Stormy Daniels a “porn who-kur” when she found out that Annie Liebowitz intended to do a photo shoot of Daniels for Vogue Magazine. It sticks in Melania’s craw, bigly, that Vogue didn’t do a photo shoot of her when she was First Lady. Or now, for that matter.
Part of the deal of being with Donald Trump was supposed to be getting on the cover of fashion magazines and Melania’s one and only shot at a Vogue cover was when she married Trump back in 2005. That’s it, Melanoma. That’s what you got then and that’s all you’re going to get. If it’s not enough, oh well. Stormy Daniels may be a “porn who-kur” but as she herself points out, she “may have sold her pussy but you sold your soul.”
I guess that Wolkoff’s crime here was that she dared to say that any factor, at all, was responsible for Joe Biden looking bad. Trump’s version is that he was so totally wonderful that if Joe faltered it was strictly due to Trump’s wonderfulness and superiority in all ways.
In any event, it’s interesting that he would punch down like this at a former friend of his wife’s, someone who put together social events, sent invitations, what have you. It seems to be a bit demeaning for somebody who seeks to be the leader of the free world to go out of his way to trash somebody who coordinates caterers and bunting hangers for a living. But that’s the comical part, Trump seems to be oblivious to that aspect of things.
Oh well. It’s the last day of June and one thing we know with absolute certainty, July will be a big month for the orange man. For the first time in history we will see a former U.S. president sentenced for 34 felonies and then go on a few days later to be crowned with the honor of representing the Republican party on its 2024 ticket.
