Donald Trump wants people deported, gone, outa’ here, buh-bye, with “no due process” because that’s nice and he doesn’t want to be nice. It matters not that some, very few, but some of those immigrants seeking refugee status in the United States may well have sponsors here and be entitled to it under the law. Actually, it does matter, because those are the ones Trump especially doesn’t want in this country because it could lead to more.
Crushingly, the race to deportation paces well-ahead of where people’s children reside as parents are forced out of the country.
Regardless, the 5,000 judges thing is one of those convenient pop-ups that occur within his Propecia-soaked-head. Who the hell is “they”? The ones who said 5,000 judges are needed? Do you believe that anyone in the White House or Sessions’ DOJ came to Donald Trump and said they need 5,000 judges?
No, of course you don’t because you’d be an idiot and we don’t have idiots reading our stuff around here. We know, we checked, you passed.
Psssst. Want to know a fact that your Facebook uncle doesn’t know, one that might drive him up the wall? There aren’t 1,000 federal judges in the whole country right now. There should be, there are 400 or so vacancies (and there were FAR more under Obama because Mitch McConnell flipped the rules about blue slips and 60 vote requirements the moment he needed to seat Trump judges). But, even counting the vacancies puts the number – across the entire nation – at less than 1500 total, everywhere, Alaska, Alabama, Vermont. You know.
You also know that the reason “they” told him we need 5,000 new judges is to demonstrate to the ones who need nothing demonstrated, that “due process” is ridiculous in the face of immigration and the “crises” the nation faces. He wants people believing that dealing with people fairly is impossible, and even requesting it is ridiculous on its face (because it’ll require 5,000 judges, damn it!). So we’d be fools to even bother with the whole notion of due process. Actually, he just made that argument on TV, that other countries are laughing at us because we do all this due process stuff with people at the border.
As if being laughed at ever stopped Trump from doing anything.
And, the other countries aren’t laughing, they’re crying.
He needs “us” to trust “him” to be the only “judge” needed regarding the border, and pretty well everywhere else, too, now that I think about it. Speaking of thinking about things, after a moment’s thought, you never believed that anyone said anything about 5,000 judges to Trump and didn’t need to read it here to know it.
