There are bookies collecting money right now, because it was betted upon that Donald Trump would do something at the last minute to gain the headlines, to get the attention he must have to live in his own skin, one.more.time before transitioning into obscurity. So he pardoned Jeannine Pirro’s ex husband a few minutes before noon, ET, so that he could grab some attention, any attention, away from the Biden Inauguration.
New: Trump has pardoned Al Pirro, who was convicted of tax fraud. Pirro has previously worked with Trump on real estate deals and is the ex-husband of Fox host Jeanine Pirro.

Read between the lines on this last pardon. Trump could easily have pardoned Pirro along with the rest. He did not. He wanted to have something “newsworthy” in his pocket so that he could stay in the spotlight until the last nano second before there are no more cameras and it’s all too quiet.

Watched him slowly fade away the last couple of weeks. I’d rather not read his name again unless it’s on warrants or similar.
As stated, he is gone but Trumpism is all too well and healthy. Look at Josh Hawley blocking the Homeland Security head nomination. We are not out of the woods by any insane stretch of the imagination.

One thing I’ll say, he’s sweating now. Nobody cares what he has to say. Biden is up there with Garth Brooks, the national poet laureate is speaking and it’s a class act. And Trump will touch down in Palm Beach and go to his club. He won’t be able to handle the change. And no way he is like Jimmy Carter and will go out in the world and do much good for decades to come. HA!

Maybe I’m clueless (it’s happened far more often than I like to think about) but though appalling (would we expect anything else) this fell with a thud. I’ve been switching back and forth between MSNBC and Fox (just had to check in now and then to see what kind of crap THEIR viewers were being fed) and if either mentioned it I missed it. Last night after Maddow my belief there would be no pardons until Trump was on the plane was solidified. Had he released that big list, especially with Bannon included (Bannon’s pardon came separately) I think Trump might have actually been able to force the news to devote enough time to him to crap all over Biden’s moment. Being Trump he probably figured by repaying notorious fluffer “judge” Janine would make the libs cry and get him some attention. From where I sit his media instincts wound up being way off the mark. But I can’t help but wonder about how much rage he experienced not being able to TWEET during the inauguration! Maybe stroke inducing, which would cause me to find a t-shirt vendor that could print up a “I don’t really care do U? shirt. If I were a member at Mar A Lago the last place I’d want to hang out today, tonight or for days to come is there! I have no doubt the lack of attention, the comparisons between himself and Biden with him LOSING yet some more (even on Fox a bit if what I saw this morning is any indication) will cause a never ending stream of tantrums complete with throwing stuff at people!
Until he’s indicted, why speak any more of him? Let the “lone and level sands” Shelley wrote of be his legacy.

No one knows who Al Pirro? I never heard his name until I read this or had any idea that Jeanine Pirro had a convicted ex.
After pardoning unrepentant child murderers, the rest seem lightweight ego trips.
This is pretty anti-climatic though. Who knows who Al Pirro is? Almost no one. He probably just accidentally left his name off. If he wanted attention he would have pardoned someone more controversial, like one of the more conspicuous seditionists, or someone like Stephen Miller.
