Poor Donald Trump. He thought he was soooooo Special. (‘Special Needs?’ Well…Yes) Trumpty was thinking he had an exclusive invitation to be feted by the United Kingdom. He craves a second State Visit, even more so after his Oval Office Tag-Team MUGGING of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trumpty assumed Zelensky would quietly ‘slink’ back to Ukraine in shame, and watch the United States force NATO and the EU to acceed to handing over his country to Putin and Russia. It didn’t work out that way. Nope. Zelensky made stopover on his way home, which included not just a meeting with NATO who reinforced their intent to support Ukraine but also a personal visit with King Charles!

As we can see from this article from The Mirror US our wannabe King but still only President is all butt-hurt about the King having a warm visit with Zelensky. Donald can’t believe it! In his deluded mind the King was supposed to take HIS side and tell Zelensky both to get stuffed and get the hell out of the UK. Instead Trumpty feels “slighted” over the King, who he assumed was HIS friend meeting with Ukraine’s President:

According to the Daily Mail, President Donald Trump took it personally when he discovered that King Charles had met with Volodymyr Zelensky just days after Trump himself received an exclusive invitation to Sandringham from Sir Keir Starmer.

“Diplomatic sources” in Washington revealed that upon learning of King Charles’s meeting with Zelensky shortly after his own invite to London, Trump now feels “less special” and has “gone cool” on Britain.

Reportedly Trump’s allies have privately expressed to officials in the UK Trump was “hurt” that anyone else but ‘Trump the Great” (Ok, so they didn’t put it quite in those words) would get an invitation to Sandringham. Or worse that Zelensky would get an invite BEFORE him. So the UK diplomatic folks had to tell Trump’s people what would be obvious to anyone else:

In response, Trump’s allies were informed that “it would have been inappropriate” for the government to “direct” the King not to meet with Zelensky.

Here’s Trumps dilemma: He wants, needs and CRAVES that second state visit to the UK. However while Trumpty isn’t smart he is PR savvy. Every part of his massively over-inflated ego has him wanting to trash the hell out of King Charles. And the UK too for allowing Zelensky to stop over in the first place. However going out and ripping on the King of England will for damned sure kill any state visit there that was being worked on!  Oh my – what’s a Trumpty-Dumpty to DO?

Maybe the King remembers that first state visit. Especially the formal, white tie dinner where Trumpty-Dumpty showed up in the most epic White Tie fail in history. I swear he looked (because he was) like a fat-assed buffoon stuffed into his formal wear. The queen was clearly embarrassed to have to be seen next to him walking down the hall! (I can’t add an image here – I’ll do so in the comments)  Maybe King Charles looked on and was appalled by what his mom had to suffer and schemed a way for Trump to prevent his own children from having to suffer a similar fate with him!

However you want to look at it reporting is that things have “cooled” between the Trump administration and the UK. As I wrote recently Trump (and Vance) pulled that Oval Office stunt intending for it to be the end of Zelensky.  He confidently assumed our allies would start dropping support for Zelensky and Ukraine literally later that day. I’m sure Trumpty was mightily pissed when instead messages of SUPPORT for Zelenksky and Ukraine started pouring in from world leaders/capitols instead. Starting within hours of the mugging.

At least Trumpty could console himself with an “exclusive” invitation to a very special meeting over in the UK. But now? Trumpty finds himself BEHIND Zelensky in that privilege, and worse the King being all nice to Zelensky and supportive of Ukraine’s right to defend itself from an invasion buy a brutal Russian dictator!  This is not at all how Trump saw things unfolding. He’s fit to be tied and I wonder if they haven’t had to slip him into a straightjacket to keep him from going on TV for the meltdown that will cause the 25th Amendment to be invoked.

I sometimes say I take my fun where I can find it. I’m having a fair amount of fun this morning (a welcome change after the last week) at Trumpty-Dumpty’s expense.  He thought the King was his ‘bigly’ pal and it turns out to be not so much. King Charles had a choice to make – dump support for Ukraine and Zelensky and pledge fealty to Trump, OR tell Trump sorry but we back Ukraine on this one and not you!  The King has chosen, and in doing so made things easier for Starmer over at 10 Downing Street. The UK isn’t going to back Trump’s attempt to hand over Ukraine to Putin.

So again, I’m having some fun thinking about Trump bouncing between humiliation and rage, because he soooo wants that state dinner in the UK. Now he’s boxed in. He can blow it by trashing the King and the UK, or he can back off to some degree on Ukraine. And have to deal with Putin not being happy with him.  If that scares Trumpty so much the better.  I hope this new situation amuses you as much as it does me…

Friends, we thank you if you have already donated. If you have not, and are able, we use the donations to pay the overhead until our traffic gets back up to normal again. Everything crashed after November 5, which is why you see people like Joy Reid getting fired and Jim Acosta resigning. We are at war in this country. Truth v. Lies. This blog will always bring you the truth as long as we have internet access and Kash Patel doesn’t carry us off. I have no idea how bizarre things could get. Truly I don’t. But we’re in it together. 1. Well, as a technicality of the monarch’s position, the usual protocol is that the King or Queen reflects the GOVERNMENT’S position. Since the current PM and Government is from Labour, the King’s policy decisions will reflect Labour’s stance (just as when the Tories are in power, the monarch’s policy decisions reflect those of the Tories).

If the PM “suggested” King Charles should meet with President Zelenskyy, then the King will do just that (they are both of their countries’ respective heads of state. The Monarch does have a right to refuse to meet with anyone but he or she does usually follow the PM’s recommendation.

  2. The King is known to be an environmentalist and does lean toward the left. His mother indulged trump in a state visit in 2019, and who can forget the pictures of him in the over-stuffed waiter’s uniform standing beside her? The jokes of the pompous ass in the monkey suit must have circulated at the palace for some time. Slava Ukraini!

    • What a humiliating buffoon! I like most Americans very much, but at this time, I am glad I’m not one of ’em. (forehead-slap emoji!)

  3. Now King Charlie II needs to help Ukraine in more direct, positive ways: like unzipping the very fat Royal Purse and buying Kyiv the weaponry (but not from the USA) to complete the defeat of Putin’s depleted army. Charles is, after all, seriously rich, although his wealth is measured in the old way: it’s in land (he owns all of Cornwall, for example) and valuables (the Crown Jewels, various mansions, etc). In the late 1920s, patriotic Lady Houston donated £100,000 to build Supermarine racing seaplanes, precursors to the Spitfire; the equivalent of that amount today is £8 million. Surely a patriotic King can do the same or better.

    • Yes, but that would ‘involve the king in politics’, something he has to studiously ‘avoid the appearance’ of.

Giving money would be picking a side, and obviously so.

On the other hand, seeing Zelelensky at a day’s notice and clearing a whole day for him, and seeing him in his personal quarters, on what is normally, for him, a day-off his official schedule, while Trump has to wait months for the various protocol, merely, perhaps, implies it.

Such is the way diplomacy is conducted. Trump can’t complain. He WILL see the king.

      Eventually.

And with all the pomp and prestige of an official visit where he can be safely kept at an official distance without anyone royal having to talk to him too much, if at all. And if any conversation occurs, it’s in a public place.

The fact that Zelensky is greeted as a personal friend at VERY short notice on the King’s day off – and in his personal quarters, even though the King may have been PERSONALLY and DIRECTLY inconvenienced sends a much more powerful message of support for Ukraine.

A message much stronger than sending mere money.

      That’s something Americans would do.

      • I assure you my tongue was firmly in my cheek whilst writing that. Although “mere money” in the context of Ukraine’s need for weapons is perhaps somewhat ingenuous.

        • Money is only useful for buying things that can be bought.

Some things are not for sale for mere money. They can’t be bought with money.

Things like a good reputation, trustworthiness, likeability, or respect from others.

As the USA as a country led by Mr Trump is finding out.

One of the things that money definitely can’t buy is the true friendship of another person, as King Charles shows.

Yes he could donate some money, quickly spent, and gone in this Sisyphian conflict, but he offers something much more valuable, even priceless. The true friendship and support to a people he admires by gracing his presence with their elected leader, a man he personally admires and likes.

Money can’t buy that, Trump can’t buy that.

          But Ukraine and Zelensky can.

  4. It was reported that at the 2019 State visit to the UK, Trump really wanted his adult offspring to be photographed with Prince William and Prince Harry. He wanted to give the impression that his kids were “next in line” to assume power in the US. The Queen, reportedly, was appalled and made sure the photo shoot never happened.

  5. actually F47 is being invited to either Balmoral or Dumfries to ‘plan’ a state visit. it’s worthy to note Buck Palace is regarded as the office abd Sandringham his home. so by accepting Zelenskyy’s request to invite him for meeting at his home speaks volumes, he also met Trudeau and then wore Canadian Molitary honours when visiting HMS Prince of Wales.
he’s also addressing the commonwealth today of which he is head of and also Head of State for Canada
