“I wouldn’t look too closely at those postmarks if I were you.” — Sunset Boulevard

Donald Trump has apparently managed to gaslight himself into believing that this is necessary. Either that, or Ivanka doesn’t want the donations trail to become too cold. Trump world has established the Office Of The Former President in order to deal with those bags of fan mail pouring into Florida. Last we knew, Team Trump had to commandeer an aircraft carrier to hold them all. Santa never got this kind of action at the North Pole, I’ll tell you what. And then there are the appearances and all the interviews, scheduling, scheduling. When you’re a star, they let you do an encore.

“He will make many phone calls and have many meetings. He will work for the American people from early in the morning into late in the evening. He will drink Diet Coke and watch cable news.” Did I leave anything out?

  2. A line from The Mighty Ducks comes to mind: “You’re not even a has-been. You’re a never-was.” This is doubly true of anyone still on this derailing train.

  3. It gets worse – under the ‘Former Presidents Act’ ( 3 U.S.C. § 102)

“…By law, former presidents are entitled to a pension, staff, office expenses, medical care, health insurance, and Secret Service protection. These entitlements only apply if the former president was not removed from office by impeachment or other Congressional actions. …”

“…Transition funding for the expenses of leaving office is available for seven months. It covers office space, staff compensation, communications services, and printing and postage associated with the transition…”

“…Private office staff and related funding is provided by the Administrator of the General Services Administration. People employed under this subsection are selected by and responsible only to the former president for the performance of their duties. Each former president fixes basic rates of compensation for persons employed for them, not exceeding an annualized total of $150,000 for the first 30 months and $96,000 thereafter…”

Wait until he finds out about the ‘Presidential Townhouse’ (google for that)

The idiots in the Senate who think it’s a bad idea to haul his a$$ up for trial really need to catch themselves on before he latches on to any more con jobs

      • I would love for that to come to pass. The latest thing is the majority of republican senators, minus 5, voted that the impeachment is unconstitutional.

        • The problem Cheryl is that they can’t accept the simple fact that the actual impeachment happened BEFORE he left office. Impeachment isn’t the trial – it’s the indictment which was done by the lower house. The upper house holds the trial on the ‘indictment’. You may as well say that the CEO of a company who was indicted for fraud can’t be tried in court because his shareholders voted him out AFTER he was indicted
