Take one desperate, not too intelligent man, who cannot learn and cannot change and present him with ever worsening news about himself and the bleakness of his future, and what you get is what we saw in North Carolina, Thursday. Trump did his usual insult comic shtick, and the one liners and comedy sketches just fall flat at this point. This act is old, but this is what it’s going to be for the next 19 days. America gets to watch the air deflate out of a pompous stuffed shirt of a man, who apparently believes that he can get votes by lashing out and dialing up the shock value. He apparently is unaware that somewhere on the shock continuum is total disgust, and people have had enough.

Trump does his “Concast” joke for the umpteenth time, even stopping to boringly explain it in detail. He says his town hall on NBC is a “set up.” Why would he be unhappy with it? Critics contend that the NBC town hall, airing alongside Joe Biden’s ABC town hall is a gift to Trump after he refused to participate in the debate originally scheduled for tonight. So this is a “set up?”

The anti-Fauci remarks are so false. There is no way Anthony Fauci ever said, “Do not wear a mask under any circumstances.”  But it fits with the narrative that COVID-19 is merely a tool that Evil Democrats are using to take him down, and not a worldwide pandemic.

And make no mistake, Trump actually calls Democrats “Evil Democrats.” He went on in his rant to praise Amy Coney Barrett for “toying with those Democrat evil people.”

This is what it looks like when a clown gets hired to do a job that would tax the talents of a King Solomon.

  1. What is Trump going to do when he sees all the TV equipment being hauled out from his town hall location as he gets there 15-20 minutes late as usual and when he asks the technicians what the heck is going on, over by the semi trailer with the big letters NBC on the side, they say, you shit on us with your comments, … we have had enough of your BS, you’re done here …. good luck …

All, after making a FULL NETWORK BULLETIN, due to technical difficulties, this town hall is cancelled … please resume normal programming on all network stations …

      • Actually, as it turns out, Trump set himself up going up against a sharp woman like Savannah Guthrie, who was not afraid to stand up to the bullshit. If any of his true believers were wavering and saw this, they should have been reminded of the guy behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz, just a crackpot with a loud speaker and no special powers at all.

  2. He looks like he’s retaining fluid. His face is all puffed up. It must be from all the steroids he’s taking. I hope he is as healthy as his doctors claim.

    • He’s likely anything but. I remain convinced that he’s abusing the Dex the way he used to his favorite nose candy. My mom just happened to mention how steroids she was put on also did the water retention thing. She also mentioned that the other big thing it caused was lethargy.

  3. Prediction…it will be all about ratings for Trump either way, and he won’t get why 10 million total viewers who are all partisan isn’t the same as a debate where true persuadable voters tune in.

In terms of shifting the race, this town Hall plot is a lose-lose – no one will increase vote share. Which benefits the guy who is winning in a landslide.

    Stable genius at work.

  4. Let Donald Trump stand as a warning to ALL of us. Not just on what could happen to us as a country but ourselves as individuals unless we remain curious, careful and caring.

  5. There is no way Savannah Guthrie will be able to control this guy, he’s going to run right up the front and down the back of her. It’s going to be another “off the rails” night just like the debate. Must See TV, even though I think it’s wrong to even have this when he wouldn’t do the debate.

  6. NBC announcer:

Savannah Guthrie will be unable to attend this evening so we present you guest host of tonight’s town hall….Joe Scarborough.

    *evil grin*

  7. Couldn’t bring myself to watch it, but caught Rachel Maddow’s calm, deliberate evisceration of Trump’s performance, including the lies, oh the lies he told. And that Savannah Guthrie more than held her own against him. Which is not easy to do–he’s a crazed out-of-control windmill with razors for blades. And with no sense of decorum or self-awareness of how he is being perceived.

  8. I could have done a better job as President and I have absolutely no political experience whatsoever. At least, I would fill all cabinet posts with experts, listen to them, and follow their advice.
