As a general rule, I don’t mock anyone’s body or attendant matters. I am even careful about speculating as to someone’s health – though people in important offices do have a duty to disclose any health issue that might impact their ability. But given that it is the middle of summer, that the media world is obsessed with the Epstein files (Yes, I have contributed to such), and the fact that Donald Trump made the decision to wear obvious lifts on what anyone would otherwise describe as classic women’s pumps, well – big fish, small barrel, sort of. Forgive me, media gods.
This is hilarious because even I can see the obvious here with the ultimate influencer Mrs. Betty Bowers, helping us, her quarter of a million followers, with a picture that makes even our eyes giggle:

Right.
It is wholly unusual for me to notice anything in a picture. I am an analyst of context and culture, both political and pop, but all verbal. My vision is a blind spot, so to speak. But I can see the right heel practically lifted out of the shoe, and the left heel looking more like a conservative but classy black pump for women.
Now, about the only thing that I know about shoes is that I would give up just about any job to sell women’s shoes at Nordstrom for about a month – and no, I am not a foot guy, just a guy, and that’s plenty, trust me on that. My daughter is 17, and, as a single dad, I think about the age where I would be happy to see her “elevated” in such a classic conservative manner. But this is way out there for a man, and that makes me wonder if Trump actually “is” a foot guy. He certainly appears to be when it comes to his shoes. Make those shoes lavender and you have the perfect accoutrement to a business pant suit (I do know women’s clothes, that’s for damn sure – one must, if one is going to handle them.)
Don’t get mad at me, it’s Sunday in summer. Even Obama got in trouble during the dog days when he scandalously wore a tan summer-weight suit. (Which just happened to look fantastic.)
Never forget!
That guy can wear a fishing vest to work and make it look right, you know? I aspire.
But I don’t wear women’s shoes, and I am not judging those who do. This is true even of Trump. If he wants to wear pumps, whatever. I am still more concerned about the impact of tariffs and why FEMA didn’t answer frantic calls during and after the floods. But Trump is the one who often mocks how other people look and would go crazy if someone noted that he was wearing lifts (AKA pumps) to be “taller.”
If he simply admitted and said, “Yeah, but I look fabulous!” even I would probably tip my cap to that and say, “touche,” nothing to see here. But as obvious and fabulous as those look (On a woman), it still cannot make me or anyone divert their real attention away from wanting to see Trump’s name on the Epstein client documents. (If there isn’t a “list,” make one from the files!)
There are plenty of columns, many mine, on that serious matter. For now, I just want to “look up” to Trump and say, “Those are beautiful. Did you get them at Nordstrom? First floor?
“I’m asking because I’m looking for an opening.”

It’s increasingly clear that Trump is a PINO – president in name only. It has always been true, but in his first term, he had enough subordinates who were competent enough to prop him up and prevent total chaos.
Now, Trump’s “acting” ability is rapidly deteriorating because of his dementia, and his underlings were chosen for loyalty, not expertise or competence. The fact that even hard-core MAGA folks are starting to rebel is a sign that the charade can’t continue. It’s frightening for our country, but the sooner the fall comes, the better.

Is there anyone on the planet dumb enough to believe Trump was an Epstein client? If he had been, it would have already been headline news and he would have been dragged into court. The Biden administration had the documents and protecting Trump was not in their wheelhouse.
